Cool window and door frame detail.

The Lab spent an afternoon at Gropiusstadt, the residential complex built in 1960 by modernist architect Walter Gropius. Jörg Stollman, co-founder of urbaninform.net with Rainer Hehl and professor and Chair for Urban Design and Architecture at the Technical University of Berlin, and his team are working with and for the residents of Gropiusstadt in a setting of community-based research and design. In this tour, his architecture students joined us to discuss the challenges and potential of Gropiusstadt, shared their discoveries, and provided insights into the residential colony.

An old Ifugao Hut in Tam-awan Village. It is said that if a couple does not bear a child within a year of iving together, The native Ifugao couple stays here for a couple of months where a shaman (locally called mumbaki) performs a ritual upon them. A closer look at the houses will tell you they are well built , originally without a single nail used. A pride of philippine culture that is, sad to say, vanishing!

When you walk into a room where Degas, Cezanne, Pizzaro, Matisse, Manet, Monet , Rembrandt, etc. is displayed, you are overwhelmed by the majesty and genius of histories painters. Just by being in the same room, I feel different...

Basilica Papale di Santa Maria Maggiore

Architecte: Joseph Crahay.

Inside of the tomb of Mir Waise Nekah. Here Islamic decoration has taken a distinct Pashtoon flavor. Pashtoons are the southern tribes of Afghanistan.

Paris day 3, la Defense ...

A very nice combination of Art Deco, Modernist, and traditional Chinese forms (the 2 lions with ball at the top) on this historic villa on Central Wulumuqi Rd.

I was coming back from Kierkegaard's graveyard and knew I'd never be able to come back to this spot later at night so I tried a rare day photo. This location would have been outside the city walls in Kierkegaard's day and would have probably been just grass and of no particular importance to him that I know of.
