The Builders Arms Hotel is a historic pub on Gertrude Street Fitzroy, and the public bar has been whetting the whistle of locals since 1853.
"...So now I come to you
With open arms
Nothing to hide
Believe what I say
So here I am
With open arms
Hoping you'll see
What your love means to me
Open arms..."
The Lygon Arms at Broadway in the Cotswolds dates back to the 15th Century. Its history states that Oliver Cromwell stayed here before the Battle of Worcester in 1651.
Melancholy mood strikes me, this is part of the redundant Alma Arms which is becoming an excellent canvas for our talented local street artists - an improvement . . .

Birmingham Arms. Old coaching inn on Birmingham Arms Road, Oatlands. How many times have we driven past this old building on the Midland Highway? Lots is the answer, always looking from a distance and thought it was time for a closer look. Poor thing needs saving. Oatlands Tasmania.

I had been feeling very frustrated and yes, handicapped after breaking my wrist...so many things I couldn't do or needed assistance to do especially because I'm right-handed. Determination got the better of me as well as the monsoon weather going on in the Eastern Sierra...I couldn't pass it up!
So after a practice run at home to see if I could set up and shoot without help, off I went. Maybe a little risky for me driving through downpours and mudslides with one hand, but I did it without any issues.
At the end of this evening, having made it here just in time for sunset, I knew my efforts paid off. In the middle of the meadow, in the fading light, and looking to the sky, I threw out my arms (well, one anyway) and thanked whomever the gods may be...and maybe let out a little hoo-ya as well! ;)
Hope you're having a great week and thanks for stopping by!
On the exterior wall of Sant'Andrea, to the right of the entrance door were these three crest/coat or arms which are believed to date the medieval period. The Orvieto municipal coat of arms is on the right.

These little Derringer type guns are becoming increasingly more popular here in the US, especially among women as a means of personal protection.
This small cafe in Market Square, Newark was closed down on health and hygiene infringements. The local council has filled the windows of some closed shops with maps of the town, information or in this case the coat of arms of Newark.
This rendition of the coat of arms is done very amateurishly and bears only a passing resemblance of the professionally done ones. But then this was free after all and done quickly even if it is rather cartoonish!
