My friend David Wilder is starting up a new gallery in Jerome, and invited me to display my artwork in it. "The Laughing Raven Gallery" will open the end of October.
Here is one from my recent visit to Antelope Canyon.
The weather was bizarre on that day. I dont know whether to call myself lucky or unlucky. Unlucky because the day was cloudy with no or little sun and it was snowing during the tour, which meant you couldnt expect to see the best colors of the canyon walls when the inside is darker than usual. No, the weather prediction was not that bad when we had booked the tour. Overnight it had changed drastically.
However I can say that I was lucky because I witnessed something which is not an usual sight for antelope canyon. Before the tour, when I was waiting outside with very little hope to get a nice shot owing to the overcast skies and dark canyon walls, I could not imagine how stunning the view would be from inside with snow flurries flying all over the place. We did not opt for the special photography tour, hence there were bucket load of people obstructing the views and there was no time to wait and observe the beauty to decide the best light or frame. Saw this guy stumbling up Broadway one morning last week but no one could make out what his cardboard sign said. Today I found his sign on the hill by my house.
"UPTOWN CLARKDALE
Give some gas $$"
BLC stopped by after work on Friday and chatted a bit. The dogs adore her. She is like Dr. Doolittle or something, how she relates to nature and critters. It's pretty awesome.
Another great bit of wheat-pasted public art by Jetsonorama, on a crafts-stand along Highway 89, in the Navajo Reservation of Northern Arizona.
Yikes! Found under the floor while renovating Laura's kitchen. They saved it, waiting for me to walk over and take a photo before they threw it away.
2nd photo got a little bit of light on it when I swapped out film packs from one camera to another. Hence the gauzy faded quality.
