this one is just a bit of fun. my daughter and me were at our local shopping centre taking photos (before security kicked us out!) and we saw this great sunset through the window. i didn't have any filters or tripod as we were trying a bit of arcitecture shooting (haven't tried that yet) so i just took a couple of shots out of the window.
the reflection of the shopping centre lights look like space ships!
apologies for the noise and exposure in the picture!
It is the second-oldest operating of Denver and is one of the first atrium-style hotels ever built. It is now operated by Quorum Hotels and Resorts, and joined Marriott's Autograph Collection in 2012. It was built in 1892 of sandstone and red granite, one year later than the Oxford Hotel. It was named for its original owner, Henry C. Brown, and was designed with its distinctive triangular shape by architect Frank Edbrooke

When the hall was originally built the ground floor room to the left of the garden entrance was a chapel, to the right was the stone parlour, lamp room and the stewards room. The building on the far right housed the maids room, store rooms, the servants hall, dairy, laundry rooms, still room, and a milk room, all of these surrounded the kitchen courtyard.
Following various restoration projects, the chapel was replaced with a summer parlour, the stone parlour with a gallery and the Queen Anne room. The kitchen and laundry building remains mostly unchanged. The Great Hall still remains in its original position by what was originally the chapel.
The gardens look out on to what are now the remains of the moat, which does in fact resemble a lake.
