Careful observers of my stream may be able to identify the source, but it is meant as an abstract, with some resemblance, perhaps, to a map.

The Stockholm archipelago is a cluster of some 30000 islands, skerries and rocks and begins just a few minutes away from the city of Stockholm

An archipelago is a chain or cluster of islands that are formed tectonically. The five largest modern countries that are mainly archipelagos are Japan, the Philippines, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and Indonesia. The largest archipelago in the world by size is Indonesia (according to the CIA World Factbook)[2]. The archipelago with the most islands is the Archipelago Sea between Sweden and Finland, but these islands are generally small.
"Skärgård" is the swedish name and this area is called: "Stokholms Skärgårdar". which means Stockholm's Gardens of rocks!

Wet sands and barnacles form a structure like the Archipelago of island, all basked in the early rising sun ray. Small subjects mimicking the global geography....a sight captured along the coastline of Batu Uban, Penang. My OM2n shot with the metering at -1/3ev.

A stopped down shot of the shoreline in the early morning light. The warm sun ray reflecting on the muddy banks and barnacle are plenty. The previous at wide open and this at F4. My OM2n shot with the metering at -1/3ev.

The Stockholm archipelago is the largest archipelago in Sweden, and the second-largest archipelago in the Baltic Sea (the largest being across the Baltic in Finland).
Today the archipelago is a popular holiday destination with some 50,000 holiday cottages (owned mainly by Stockholmers). Visiting the larger islands in the archipelago is easy all year round, but during winter period the routes depend on the ice conditions. Several companies have regular routes.
Landsort is a beautiful place to visit all year round. It is the southernmost island in the Stockholm archipelago. The island's name is Öja, in daily speech also called Landsort. Here are the open sea, beautiful cliffs around the island and the picturesque village with the characteristic lighthouse nearby.
About 40 people live on the island, with Sweden’s oldest preserved beacon and a beautiful natural environment. Öja is about 5 km long and 600 metres wide at its widest point.

The town of Vaxholm was established in 1558, when King Gustav Vasa bought some farms from Count Per Brahe the Elder.
Vaxholm has many well-preserved wooden houses from the turn of the last century, painted in the archipelago’s typical delicate pastel tones.
In the 1880s, it became a popular spa town, and many wooded summer houses were built by people from Stockholm.
