I visited the "Pinakothek der Moderne" on November 15 last Year and took several Fotos of a wonderful Glass Arts Exhibition called:
Murano. Milano. Venezia. Glass
Pinakothek der Moderne
08.08.2016 ‐ 20.11.2016
The Items exhibited are of most impressive Beauty and I do hope that my Series is able to transfer this Flow of Beauty to my Flickr Friends. More Fotos to follow during the next weeks on a non-regular Basis. I did use the Sony Alpha A7 Mark 2 with the following Lenses:
Leitz/Leica SUMMILUX 1.4/50mm
Leitz/Leica SUMMILUX 1.4/75mm
Leitz/Leica ELMARIT 2.8/135mm
All handheld, no Tripod, manual Focus.
Press L to zoom in.
Some more Info regarding the Exhibition:
The international exhibitions held at the Triennale di Milano and the Biennale di Venezia are barometers of the most significant developments in twentieth century contemporary design and art. It is therefore no coincidence that Murano glass regularly attracts awards at both Milan and Venice. Having resurrected a range of centuries-old techniques, glassmakers such as A.V.E.M, Archimede Seguso, Barovier & Toso, and Venini learned to apply this knowledge in new and ingenious ways. Their work is a synthesis of the master glassmakers’ craftsmanship and the designers’ artistry. The objects they create attest to a successful renaissance of glass design that continues to the present day.
Displaying a selection of objects from the Holz Collection in Berlin, one of the most important private collections of 20th and 21st century Murano glass anywhere in the world, this is the first comprehensive exhibition of glassware that continues to set new standards in Milan and Venice.

The sky was reasonably clear last night/early morning, so I pulled another all-nighter. Got some decent shots of our moon ... and a few of Jupiter that I haven't looked at yet.
Mare Imbrium that you see here is thought to have been caused by a protoplanet that crashed into our moon over 3 billion years ago.
The Apollo 15 landing site is in this area. I should have marked it in Photoshop, but to get the general area, find the three craters (Archimeded, Aristillus, and Autolycus) in the lower right quadrant ... the large, medium, and small ones grouped together ... draw a straight line from the medium one ( Aristillus) to the small one (Autolycus), curve around the two mountains you see there and take a right angled turn into the mountain ridge. That's where it is ... near Hadley Rill.
Click on this a couple of times and you should be able to zoom in to see the detail.
This Panda was far from home. It traveled all the way from Trieste, near the Slovenian border.
The Fiat Panda was introduced in 1980. It was designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro (It, 1938) and Aldo Montovani of Ital Design.
The Panda prototype appeared in February 1978.
The first generation Panda was modified in 1986 and 1991.
A 4-wheel drive variant was presented in 1983. Also a panel van was developed, which was mainly sold on the domestic market.
The Panda is built in Spain under license as 1996-1998 Seat Marbella.
The current generation Panda is from the third one.

Restare sospesi
sul pelo dell'acqua,
le orecchie che ascoltano
il verso dell'onda
con gli occhi socchiusi
in levitazione,
né in cielo né in terra,
le braccia accoglienti
e l'anima altrove
che danza con te.
Lo spazio ed il tempo
in liquidazione
e un tale Archimede
che al resto provvede.
Un morto beato?
L'hai proprio trovato.

It is winter, but it does not seem so.
Here, in Siracusa, the town of Archimede and Dioniso, on the first day of the year, there is a warm sun. And the beautiful white city shines...

mattinata purtroppo indimenticabile, con l'ondata di sfortuna che mi ha investito questa è l'unica foto decente uscita, e pensare che avevo in mente ben altro per questo treno sigh ;(
Contrary to the visitors’ sign, this is the alleged tomb of the mathematician Archimedes. It’s actually a Roman burial chamber (a columbarium) constructed hundreds of years after his death, and is to be found in the Neapolis Archaeological Park, north of Syracuse in Sicily.
Archimedes excelled in the fields of mathematics, physics, engineering, philosophy, astronomy and invention; an all-round guy, then. He’s most famous for discovering the law of hydrostatics, which states that a body immersed in fluid loses weight equal to the weight of the amount of fluid it displaces (come on now, pay attention!) He’s supposed to have made this discovery when stepping into his bath, causing him to exclaim 'Eureka!'
Archimedes, who was Greek when Sicily was part of the Greek Empire, died at the age of 75 during the Siege of Syracuse (214-212 BC) when he was killed by a Roman soldier who ignored orders that he shouldn’t be harmed. The Romans went on to gain control of the whole of Sicily from Greece. Today, the columbarium is but a shell… but with or without Archimedes, it’s still interesting.
At the center of the fountain he created in Syracuse, Giulio Moschetti (1847-1909) portrayed Diana, the goddess of the hunt, in all of her calm and pride.
At her feet, Alpheus looks on in amazement as his beloved Arethusa turns into a fountain: appalled by the river god’s erotic pursuit, the nymph had asked for Diana’s help, leading to her metamorphosis. She sunk into the ground and emerged on the island of Ortygia, the oldest part of the Sicilian city. According to legend, that is the origin of the spring named after Arethusa.
The reinforced concrete sculpted group in Piazza Archimede also includes Tritons and Pistrices, and was built between 1906 and 1907.

Is a species of birds, type species of the Alcedinidae family. This bird is a good natural indicator of the quality of an aquatic environment.
The bird, very perennial, travels a circuit on its territory by landing on perches that it knows, well prepared to watch for its prey. If its position is high enough, it dives directly, and also quickly emerges from the water thanks to the thrust of Archimedes resulting from the air trapped under its plumage. If it starts from a support that is too close to the surface, it must first eject upward before turning around to dive. But he can also do long hover sequences before diving. When his attempt is rewarded, he lands and undertakes to stun his prey by beating it on its branch with alternating head movements, before swallowing it, when he is not going to carry it to his companion (male during the mating season ) or its juveniles. The sex of kingfishers is differentiated by the color of the beak: almost completely black in the male; in the female, the mandible is the same orange as the legs.
