Galaxy arcade game, 1971
“Galaxy was one of the first coin-operated video games. Using a DEC PDP-11/20 minicomputer, designers Bill Pitts and Hugh Tuck produced a reprogrammed version of the classic SpaceWar! game. The original machines were installed in Stanford University’s Tressider Student Union in September 1971 and quickly became tremendously popular. From 1972 to 1979, Tressider had a second version of the game, featured here, that could include up to four displays. Galaxy was re-installed at Stanford in the William Gates Computer Science Building from 1997 to 2000.”

Galaxian is an arcade game developed by Namco for the Japanese market in 1979 and imported to North America by Midway in 1980. A fixed shooter-style game in which the player controls a spaceship at the bottom of the screen and shoots enemies descending in various directions, it was designed to compete with Space Invaders, whose formulas it expanded upon with the element of aliens periodically make kamikaze-like dives at the player's ship, the Galaxip.

Following a $67 million expansion by architect Thomas Lesser, starting in March 2008, the museum doubled its size and reopened in January 2011.

The only kind of golf I have patience for is mini golf, plus I can take my kids and have a good time with them. I've wanted to take a shot of this building for some time, so I finally just went and did it. These folks have two mini golf courses and a couple of go-kart tracks. Other than Cedar Point Amusement Park, this is the only place in or near Sandusky for these activities.
Oh, the folks who own this complex live in this house . . .seems to be appropriate!
Player two's controller for the "Textminator" arcade game. Seemed to be Word Shark but with predictive-text handsets.

To protect the Gauntlet, we wrapped it in archival Tyvek. This is a special material that has a slight electrostatic charge on it that repels dust on the outside and attracts dust from the insider of the unit. It has to be held together with special Tyvek tape. It's expensive. Ton's hidden, doing all the work (you can see his knee) , while Judith supervises.
My friend's collection of vintage mini arcade games... he buys broken ones and fixes them up.
I have my eye on the Pac-man one... I received that exact game Christmas of 1984 when I was 10! I played it as much as I could get a away with :D

We can't see the screen but it's a robot game (like gundam or macross).
The control pads are funny ^^
I got this cabinet for $75 non-working. Repaired the monitor board and replaced the power supply. PCB has been repaired. As you can see it is running "The Simpsons" in this pic. Will add a new pic running X-men. Cabinet is in pretty good shape.
Google's Pac-Man Logo celebrates PacMan's 30th Anniversary today.
You can actually play the Pac-Man video game on the logo by clicking your mouse pointer!
This is probably the coolest Google Doodle logo EVAH!
One of my friends in highschool had memorized the PacMan patterns, so he could play for HOURS on end -- he only stopped when he got too tired.
