This is a composite image of two of my earlier photos. I used a number of iPhone apps to process these on my iPhone including Afterlight 2 and PIP

I went through and watched the videos about Astro Pixel Processor, I needed to s l o w down and pay attention, especially what sliders can do for your picture......I LOVE the features that APP offers, Like the light pollution removal tool, background calibration and color correction to name a few....I have posted the crappy one earlier, its a few pictures that way>>>>>>

For the Crazy Tuesday theme of ICM, or intentional camera movement. My DD was the puppeteer for a little bee finger puppet. (I’ll look and see if I have a picture of just the bee puppet in a bit.) Used the camera app called Slow Shutter for the illusion of movement.

Headed out for a night on the dunes with Bruce Hood and my classic Gretsch Guitar and spent hours drinking beer and getting the guitar to sit naturally in the sand, using a garden blower, mini shovel and more beer. It's a real challenge using real props than just dropping bits in like so many togs are doing these days.

Tried lots of different compositions and exposures with the clouds and finally settled on the long exposure effect.

I haven't uploaded my 2021 fireworks yet, so here are some manipulations from an old 2015 shot from my Olympus EM-10. These are from a mix of Android apps including Mirror Lab and Chroma Lab. I love the bright colors and neat abstracts I get from using these apps.

Major processing with Picas app

Made by Startrails App from 189 images captured at 17s intervals 14mm F2.8 15s ISO640. Same images were used to create the time-lapse. Nine of that set (from the middle) were used to create the "Still" of the Milky Way.

Interestingly this is the easiest of the 'types' to make. Whether you use Startrails or a different app (e.g. Photoshop) one basically would use a LIGHTEN blend mode that "simply" uses the lightest bits of each image. Since the first image in the sequence is the lightest and cleanest exposure for the land (as it's progressively getting darker) that basically 'comes through' without needing to do any manual masking.

The "trick" is to make one's star-trails FIRST because one does NOT need to exposure ramp the images for star trails (since the light emitted by the stars does NOT change during the sequence). 15s / ISO640 / F2.8 is probably my 'default' exposure for stars ... at least in/around Melbourne.

(60/365) This shop bought bouquet is almost 2 weeks old but the Chrysanths are just about hanging on still. Tweaked a little for Sliders Sunday HSS! Also HBW!

March 4, 2023: Oak Tree at sunrise at Conejo Creek North Park in Thousand Oaks, California. To create this image, I used the Bluristic app on an iPhone.

Apps used: Superimpose, Snapseed, Formulas, Mextures Backstory: This image began as a color/transparency study in my “Light from Darkness” study but quickly morphed into a Christmas motif. Richest Christmas blessings to all as we celebrate the birth of the Christ child and mark the advent of His return.
