Revzen-i menkuş, meaning “fresco window,” is a specific form of Ottoman stained-glass application frequently seen in mosques, palaces and houses. Revzens are designed to host elaborate patterns of colored glass and the compositions are held in place by plaster frames made of pouf clay. The more complex designs are installed within the interiors of buildings, because of the need to preserve their fine plaster frames. The works that can be seen from the outside named “exteriors,” are produced with stronger frames and less intricate patterns. In Ottoman Religious architecture, “exteriors” are usually designed with circular or elliptical frames, while “interiors” comprise different colors and patterns.

For a fun interlude, this is a 2nd-take image based off of one of my popular pics posted here on flickr in the last few years. This particular image was done with the help of the FaceApp application, where I took a photo of the original "2019-02-20 video-snap14" pic I've posted here, then just applied a very modest filter. This was done to help for example with the poor lighting or graininess in the original, or to enhance the makeup just a tad -- and of course to have some fun. What do you think? How do I look? :-)

New application Camera & Gallery > PocketPix for Android.

PocketPix allows you to reduce the size of all the photos on your mobile by up to 90X - the idea is to never have to delete photos from your device again. Really.

Of course we'd be very happy for you to take a look, have a play with the app, and maybe, let us know what you think.

Hi! In the spirit of concentrating the public's attention in our stores and keeping the fees low and affordable to everyone, Mainstore Releases is ready propose to you a brand new store-related initiave: the Mainstore Madness! As for the Annoying Hunt, this a project that I have been doing for a while now and I think could be a great project that we can all share together!

What is Mainstore Madness?

Once a month we ask you to make a new mainstore release, no dates, no deadlines, just when you feel you can do it. The new release will stay up at your store for 48 hours with a 40% discount. We encourage you to have a countdown timer in order to show customers the remaining time they have. After that you can put the full price and keep it at your store. The responsability of your product/timing/discount etc is up to you cause I don't have a team of people that can check, so please follow the rules or the customers will skip your store and it's a pity!

Why to join?

This project is made for designers that cannot afford/are not invited to events, but also for designers that join events but want to focus the attention in their mainstores too.

The initiative will start in March.

Info and rules

- You must have an inworld store.

- You must join once a month, any day it's more comfortable to you.

- The fee is 1000L per month.

- You can share your discounted new mainstore release anytime in our Discord server (in the proper channel) and, of course, in your social media in order to promote them.

- You must rez at your store the Mainstore Madness poster that will show the discounted product(s) of the day of all stores joining so we can promote each others I will personally change the image in the poster every time you will release a new product! This is the key to this project, the mainstore community promotion!

- You can choose if you want to set the product for your group, for Mainstore Releases group or for everybody.

- Vendor images must be sent 2 days before the release of the new product via a provided form, so I have the time to create the poster.

- Once accepted you will receive a designer kit with the poster, info and a Mainstore Madness logo to add to your mainstore release.

The Bugatti Chiron was shown to the world for the first time in March 2016 as a worthy successor to the ground-breaking Veyron, setting new standards for performance and usability, once again establishing a new hyper sports car benchmark. Both the Veyron and Chiron share the phenomenal 8.0-litre W-16 engine—albeit almost entirely reengineered for the newer car—which in Chiron application features four larger two-stage turbochargers to boost power up to 1,600 PS.

A limited production run of 500 Chiron units was pledged by Bugatti and, remarkably, the first 200 of those were sold before the first Chiron had left the Molsheim atelier. Bugatti engineers would not rest on their laurels, though, and efforts were made to expand the Chiron’s spectrum of performance to include models that would be even faster and more powerful, or even more agile.

A select number of derivatives were unveiled, each finding unique ways to utilise the incomparable power of the Chiron’s W-16 beating heart. One of them is the highly agile Chiron Pur Sport, featuring a 1.9-metre-wide wing, shorter gear ratios, immensely fast acceleration and a boost of a lateral acceleration by 10 per cent leading to a top speed of 350 km/h. Its counterpart is the Chiron Super Sport, a gran turismo with 1600 PS and a limited top speed of 440 km/h. While driving a near-production Chiron Super Sport 300+ prototype, Bugatti driver Andy Wallace achieved a phenomenal speed of 304.773 mph (490.484 km/h) in 2019—to this day, a world record.

During Chiron production, customers expressed an interest in a car that was slightly “less radical” than the Chiron Pur Sport, utilising its extraordinary acceleration and handling while injecting more of a touring personality. Listening to customer feedback, Bugatti started to develop a version of the Chiron to fill this gap in its product portfolio. Engineers began work on a silhouette closer to the elegant optic of the original Chiron, yet with the driving properties of a Chiron Pur Sport.

The solution was a bespoke shape with a sweeping tail that leads to highly advanced thermodynamic air flow management and increased downforce over the rear axle. The Bugatti Chiron Profilée was born. With the Chiron in high demand, the limited allocation of 500 units had been reached while the Profilée was still in development. In an unusual move for any manufacturer, the Molsheim marque completed the pre-series car—despite being aware that the rest of the intended units would never be built. The sole outcome is this one Chiron Profilée, with single-type approval for Europe, offered for sale here. It not only features standalone technology and all parts originally intended to be included to this model series but will also be the very last brand-new Bugatti with a W-16 engine for sale by Bugatti Automobiles S.A.S.

Unique in its design, in its performance and in its special touches, the Chiron Profilée is finished in a distinctive horizontal split, that optically divides the body in two parts, making the car appear even lower than it already is. The exterior color, called “Argent Atlantique”, was exclusively developed for the Profilée. The lower part of the Profilée’s body is tinted in Bleu Royal Carbon, elegantly exposing the carbon fiber structure. The prominent horseshoe form of the alloy wheels has been especially designed, manufactured and tested for the Profilée. To match the carbon tint of the car’s lower body they are painted in “Le Patron” with polished aluminum accents.

The form of the tail, moulded into the outline of the hyper sports car and featuring a millimetre-perfect hollow section to allow for the easy escape of hot air, was engineered to add stability when driven at full tilt. The effect of these rather minor optical modifications is huge, allowing the Profilée to deliver a unique combination of acceleration, agility and accuracy while maximising the performance of the earth-shattering W-16 engine.

Around the front of the hyper car, the Profilée was given wider air inlets and an enlarged Bugatti “horseshoe” grille to aid warm air egress from the radiators. A revised front splitter worked in tandem with a sculpted underbody to further increase downforce and maximise airflow.

For the first time in any Chiron model, a woven leather finish is achieved across the center console, around the dashboard, the door panels, and rear wall inlay. This process uses exactly 2,665 metres of leather strips, each applied meticulously by hand. The Profilée is equipped with Comfort seats finished in Gris Rafale and Deep Blue leather, featuring the quilting pattern named by Bugatti as “air parade”. The cockpit features the typical Chiron instrument cluster of three compact displays with the analogue speedometer in the middle. It is installed in a black anodised aluminium housing. The steering wheel, wrapped in deep blue leather, features the same longer gear shift paddles from the Chiron Pur Sport plus the two red buttons in the middle—the right for the engine, the left for drive modes “EB”, “Autobahn”, “Handling”, and “Lift”.

Aside from its exterior shape, the Chiron Profilée was given all-new steering and suspension settings for more responsive handling. The transmission was revised, with the seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox given shorter ratios. The rev limit of the W-16 engine was increased by 200 rpm to a 6,900 rpm redline, contributing to a top speed electronically limited to 380 km/h. The special edition is the fastest accelerating of all Chiron models—capable of reaching 100 km/h in 2.3 seconds; 200 km/h in 5.5 seconds; and 300 km/h in a near-incomprehensible 12.4 seconds.

The stunning hyper car has covered only 396 kilometres of test mileage at the time of cataloguing, undergoing the final quality inspection checks that all new Bugatti hyper sports cars receive before leaving the factory. The Chiron Profilée is an automotive solitaire, never to be repeated, and unlike any other. This opportunity to own part of Bugatti history simply cannot be missed.

Late home again, I heard murmurs about me,

my parents in bed. It was not the first time,

and I didn’t know whether they ever realised

I could hear them speaking, that I also guessed

what their regular topic was. By oversight

left on the dining room table, not typed

but (“strictly required of all candidates”)

done in handwriting ‒ upright ‒ spaced

as clearly as always ‒ was my father’s

most recent letter of application.

I should not have read it. It set out his wide

experience, his talents, his eagerness

to meet new prospects with fresh ideas,

and adjust to a changing world (which went

without saying but had to be said). I saw

one detail that stopped me with its bravery:

“I am still a young man”, and the figure he added,

like this: (47). I looked at the clock

‒ as late as that? There was no more risk

of waking them now. I could go to bed.

Seventeen, on that frozen night my eyes

started something not far from the same sort of tears

that they fill with today, so I like to believe.

This has to be one of my favorite Chicago architecture photos. Here you can see the construction and application of the outer skin of the Trump Tower right next to the building that inspired its skin, the IBM building. It's really amazing to see these buildings in person and how similiar their window style is. Then there's the AON Center just poking up over the Trump Tower. The AON center is getting its last peek over Trump. And Pru2 is peeking in between with its pointy needle top. These four buildings are such a great collection of modern architecture.

It'll be fun to compare this shot once Trump Tower is completed (that's the reason why I shot it with so much sky above the buildings).
