In the Roaring 20s and Sleek 30s, when the idea of women wearing makeup really took off comercially, you would expect to find at least one power puff on a young Flapper’s dressing table. Used for the application of powder, historically, powder puffs have been made of very fine down feathers, cotton or fine fleece. In modern times synthetic materials are widely used for powder puffs. In addition to softness, an important characteristic of powder puffs is their ability to hold powder. This powder puff from the 1920s has a back of orange satin in the shape of a rose, complete with two leaves, and is attached to a long handle wrapped in matching orange satin. The vibrant colour and romantic style of this powder puff represent the vivacity as well as femininity Flappers of the 1920s were known for.
The theme for "Looking Close on Friday" for the 24th of March is "orange colour". This orange satin powder puff is a recent acquisition of mine, having been in my possession for less than a month. Being new for me, it seemed the perfect choice for the theme for this week. It is surrounded by pieces of my dressing table silver including perfume bottles, powder pots, a nail buffer, perfume corkscrew, button hook and nail file. I hope you like my choice for the theme this week, and that it makes you smile.
This combined hoodie and hair offering is one of the more unusual things to have come from Truth, but as usual they’ve pulled off a winner. Especially in the black version, it’s just perfect for loitering with intent in Ironwood Hills. With some judicious application of makeup like this lipstick and eyeshadow from Izzie’s you can become your very angst-ridden teenager!

Bodyfy is bimontly event (april, june, august, october, december) that regroup designers of different background that will present their creations in one location. The general theme is connected to everything that touches the skin (skin, tattoo, makeup , scarification , henna , piercing , jewelry, body part, mesh head and more.) The style is industrial, alternative, grunge or other similar style. Clothes are not allowed at this event.
This event is for women, men or unisex items. Bodyfy opening on December 8th and ends on Dec 24 th. Each designer will have to create one exclusive item related the theme and it’s not a discount event. We are reaching for high quality items and there is no prices limit.
