È probabilmente il centro più rinomato e di maggiore importanza artistica di tutta la Val d'Orcia.Il centro storico è stato dichiarato dall'UNESCO patrimonio dell'umanità nel 1996.
La città fino al 1462 altro non era che un piccolo borgo di nome Corsignano. L'evento che ne cambiò le sorti fu la nascita nel 1405 di Enea Silvio Piccolomini che 53 anni dopo divenne Papa Pio II. Proprio un viaggio del pontefice verso Mantova lo portò ad attraversare il luogo di nascita e il degrado che trovò lo portò a decidere la costruzione sopra l'antico borgo, affidandone il progetto all'architetto Bernardo Rossellino: costruzione che durò circa quattro anni e portò alla luce una cittadina armoniosa e con forme tipicamente quattrocentesche. La morte prematura di papa Pio II chiuse anche la storia della nuova città, che da allora ha subito limitate modifiche.
Pienza, a town and comune in the province of Siena, in the Val d'Orcia in Tuscany (central Italy), between the towns of Montepulciano and Montalcino, is the "touchstone of Renaissance urbanism."
In 1996, UNESCO declared the town a World Heritage Site, and in 2004 the entire valley, the Val d'Orcia, was included on the list of UNESCO's World Cultural Landscapes.
Pienza was rebuilt from a village called Corsignano, which was the birthplace (1405) of Aeneas Silvius Piccolomini (Italian: Enea Silvio Piccolomini), a Renaissance humanist born into an exiled Sienese family, who later became Pope Pius II. Once he became Pope, Piccolomini had the entire village rebuilt as an ideal Renaissance town. Intended as a retreat from Rome, it represents the first application of humanist urban planning concepts, creating an impetus for planning that was adopted in other Italian towns and cities and eventually spread to other European centers.

Bodyfy is bimontly event (april, june, august, october, december) that regroup designers of different background that will present their creations in one location. The general theme is connected to everything that touches the skin (skin, tattoo, makeup , scarification , henna , piercing , jewelry, body part, mesh head and more.) The style is industrial, alternative, grunge or other similar style. Clothes are not allowed at this event.
This event is for women, men or unisex items. Bodyfy opening on December 8th and ends on Dec 24 th. Each designer will have to create one exclusive item related the theme and it’s not a discount event. We are reaching for high quality items and there is no prices limit.

This place is horrid. I have been stuck here for months now.Soon I will be transferred to a new unit, the 253rd. I was stationed here after the succesful invasion during which most of my unit was killed.Our outpost was quickly constructed and is undermanned.Everyone here wants to leave but it looks like I am the only one that will be leaving soon. The planet is nothing but dust, dirt and debris from the recent battle. Hopefully this 253rd legion will be better than here.

As observant as you all are, you may notice I utilized a paint application with this image. I'm not sure why because I was not unhappy with the original, but succumbed to the "I wonder" syndrome which has resulted in at least twice the time allocated daily to this photography hobby. While I am often pleased with the results of this fiddling, I also find myself remarkably and uncomfortably frustrated in the decision-making process and the never-ending options available. As in this example, which had a slightly darker version (both paint and original) which had me clicking back and forth between the four for literally an hour...and I'm still not sure I made the right choice. In many ways, I do believe I was happier overall in my "naive" period...that of click and post. Nevertheless, I am not a masochist so this penchant for processing must derive from an awareness that just maybe I can create a result as cool as those presented by so many of you...which in most cases remains to be seen.
As you can see, with the last few warm and sunny days, the lake has finally begun its annual return to liquid state, always creating some interesting looks in the process. Every year is different in some ways because of the variable climatic factors involved in the process. Here you'll note the prints highlighting the slushy ice remaining from the compression of snow by feet/paws, the resulting increased density causing more resistance to melting.

The ruins of St Mary’s Church stand on the valley side above Tintern AbbeySt Mary’s Church was rebuilt in 1866, and stands on the site of a medieval chapel, probably built as a retreat for the monks of Tintern Abbey or for the secular community growing outside the Abbey walls.
Parish records date back to 1695 and reflect the more populous and hectic days of the nearby Angiddy Valley’s industrial period.
The church became redundant in 1972 and some of the contents were sold to Clearwell Castle. The communion plate, altar cross, processional cross and candlesticks are to be found in St Michael’s church, at the other end of the village.
A fire gutted the church in 1977.
