Here is last years application of Tanglefoot the trunk of an apple tree we call the "Road Apple" because it is growing near a road. To keep out the Argentine Ants, I first wrap the trunk with clear plastic tie tape because the instructions on the tube of Tanglefoot say "Do not apply directly to trees."
Note: The trunk is painted with a 50/50 solution of white latex house paint and water to prevent sunburn. Because tall trees to the south were cut down.
FYI for people not living in California: Argentinean Ants are a super colony of ants believed to extend from the San Diego (on the Mexican border) 600 miles north to Ukiah California. We ask for 1 exclusive at our events. Now this item does not have to be new but it just needs to be sold exclusively at our event for the duration of the event. We also ask for 1 item an this can be a separate item at 60L set to the Adventia group.
Why do we ask this?
Well we have found that having an exclusive helps draw customers to the event and the product, and having a discounted item can and does have the same effect.

Jane Ruchman has led the way on the Gallatin National Forest in reducing resource consumption and helping to reduce the environmental impact of our day-to-day operations.
She has been a leader in recycling by coordinating with Montana State University engineering students to create collection boxes for used propane canisters as well as a designing a recycler for bear spray canisters.
As soon as they bear spray recycling machine is fully developed, Yellowstone National Park already has plans to purchase a machine and place it at their headquarters. Collection bins will be set up at locations around the Greater Yellowstone area and transported to the park headquarters for recycling.
Jane has also led efforts to include requirements for sustainability in ranking applications for campground concession permits, the requirement for fire incident command teams to recycle at fire camps, and has been active in pursuit of grant money to retrofit historic buildings on the forest and other locations in the Greater Yellowstone Area to obtain Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (perhaps better known as LEED) certification.
Her actions benefit our agency, numerous partners, and the public, and she is clearly deserving of the Regional Forester’s Honor Award for Leadership in Sustainability.

Created in the fifteenth century and rebound slightly later, this small Book of Hours may still appear much as a sixteenth-century viewer saw it. In that period, it was covered in either Belgium or England with an opulent red velvet embellished with silk and silver embroidery. The manuscript itself was produced in Flanders around 1480-1490, and was likely destined for Cambrai, as indicated by the selection of saints in the calendar. Painted by a group of artists referred to as the Associates of the Master of Antoine Rolin, the manuscript contains several interesting full-page miniatures representing St. John the Evangelist and the Pentecost painted in blue grisaille; a similar grisaille technique was used in the Suffrages to create sculpture-like figures of the saints evoked in the prayers. Full-color miniatures introduce each hour, while illusionistic borders enhance several folios throughout the book.

The library is experimenting with new gigabit applications and developing use cases for a long distance collaboration platform called LoLa. LoLa stands for Low Latency, as in almost zero lag betweens locations. Performers feel as if they are standing 20 feet apart, despite the hundreds of miles between them during the performance.
As a part of Chattanooga Start Up Week, The Chattanooga Public Library hosted the global musical leaders with the 2016 OneBeat Fellowship, the world’s foremost music diplomacy program, and the Miami-based Fellows of the New World Symphony, America's Orchestral Academy. Using ultra high speed connectivity of Internet 2 and the low latency LoLa software inside the library, the long distance live collaborative music event was one of a kind featuring young gifted musicians from all over the world in both locations over 700 miles apart.
