This is one in a series of test shots of the Tamron 200-500 zoom lens. In total, there are about 40 pictures, and hopefully, you will find these of some value, if you are considering your options for a tele lens for your Nikon DSLR. You can also access this set of test shots from this link:

I was just running through some of this years photos for the 2008 calendar of my boys. The calendar is the Christmas gift from them to their grandparents. And then I found this one, taken in Spain in April. It was raining all the time!

I live for the applause.

After a spectacular performance of Verdi's La Traviata. I am pretty new to opera but I spent a lot of the prior months listening to the Ileana Cotrubas/Plácido Domingo/Bavarian State Orchestra recording of La Traviata and it made for a very enjoyable night out at the opera.

1993 Daihatsu Applause 1.6 GLXi spotted by my friend Stuart Montgomery in Edinburgh in September 2023. I can't remember the last time I saw one of these Daihatsus, so a great spot by Stuart and this one looks in superb condition - a real credit to its owner.

My sincere thanks to Stuart for kindly snapping this for me and allowing me to show his photo here on my Flickr photo stream.

PERSONAL FUN FACT written by my sister: About ten years before we got this doll, we got a book--Margo Rana's Disney Dolls book. It feels like a lifetime ago, but, at the same time, like a moment ago. It was my last regular semester of college before student teaching. I still remember the day the book, ordered from eBay, arrived in the mail. Aladdin, our favorite Disney movie, just happened to be right at the front of the book, followed closely by Beauty and the Beast. I remember flipping through the book and all the memories that rushed through me as I flipped through the pages--the brief time I owned a Water Surprise Jasmine, our first two Belle dolls whose heads rolled off, and the Walt Disney's Classics Snow White dolls and dwarves standing out among a large display of early Mattel dolls in a department store. A few months after getting the book (so January 2011), we were on eBay, buying dolls who we enjoyed most from the book. This Belle was ALWAYS on my radar, and I don't know why. I always FELT something when I saw her picture. Beauty and the Beast, while I have to say it takes a backseat to Aladdin (which is one of those things that brought me and Shelly together and defined our childhood), is one of my FAVORITE movies. Out of all the Disney characters, I am definitely most like Belle--that girl who lives in her own world and loves reading books. The girl everyone thinks is odd. Not only is it one of my favorite movies of all times, but it was my FIRST! I had the Beauty and the Beast VHS as far back as I could remember (which is saying something, since I have a good memory). I was watching Beauty and the Beast when Shelly was a baby. I must have watched it a zillion times. i watched it so much as a little girl, that, as far back as I remember, my VHS glitched at the beginning. I actually thought it was raining in the opening sequence because my tape had no color and flickered--I didn't realize it was a problem with my tape until I was a grown woman in my late 20s and got it on DVD. I think I especially liked this Belle for being Applause. The shoe box style package reminded me of Avon Barbies. Additionally, Shelly had an Applause Batman who she loved and that is what Applause made me think of. Despite the fact that this doll is basically a repackaged Classics doll, I think she is amazing. As I said, for some reason, I always felt something when I saw her face in the book--like she was important.

It was Halloween night 2020. We were bored on on eBay. It was a solid decade since that day in late October/early November of 2010 when the magical book arrived in the mail. Shelly happened upon Margo Rana's eBay store again, not on purpose. She'd happened upon it years earlier, but assumed that she'd finished selling off all the dolls she pictured in her book long ago. She took a peek and realized some of the dolls featured in the book were still available after all this time! The only doll I'd say was priced the same as non-famous dolls was this Belle. I saw her face as Shelly was scrolling down and I said, "Isn't that Applause Belle?" Shelly had overlooked her, thinking she was just another Classics (Shelly scrolls pretty fast when shopping). I pointed out that Belle was fair and affordable. Shelly said Belle wasn't, in her opinion, that special because she's basically a repackaged Classics and Beauty and the Beast never meant to her what it did for me. But, Shelly knew that I loved the Applause Belle and I knew that, while the Wedding Snow White who was legit pictured in our favorite doll book was a little on the pricey side compared to Wedding Snow Whites that other people had, that that no other doll would've been quite the same for Shelly. (Dad bought Shelly a lot of Snow White dolls and even some stuffed dwarves circa 2011. The Wedding doll was the only one in the book who Shelly didn't already have.) Shelly suggested we buy Belle and Snow White--then we'd each have a doll, from a favorite film, who was photographed for Margo Rana's book, from Margo's collection! I thought it was genius. The book truly inspired us to start collecting and, while I know something else would eventually have triggered it (Shelly never really stopped loving dolls), the timing was what made the last two years Dad was alive really special. Shelly made them each a stand. I love what she did for Belle's--I think the gold lettering and flowers coordinate with her dress and that the pink looks good with Belle's colors/complexion. She is truly a beautiful doll! It's funny--all those years, seeing her face and just feeling a connection with her, I never thought the doll i was actually seeing in the book would someday be mine!

First of all, I’ve been a huge Lady Gaga fan since 2010 and no, I am not gay. Everything she does is amazing and some of her works inspire me as a photographer especially that I’m in to weird shit that not many people can understand.

In this photo, It represents the start of the new era (which is led by the song Applause from her upcoming album ARTPOP) while at the same time embracing the previous eras. The three heads represent her previous albums (The Fame,The Fame Monster and Born This Way). Each head is uniquely processed to represent the era it’s supposed to portray.
