Visit her Birthday Party

My vacation wouldn't have been complete without using my macro lens occasionally for the beautiful flowers I saw.

This flower looked to me like it was clapping :)

Close up view of a variation of Applause Curler modular origami designed by Mia Tsugawa. I folded this a while ago but didn't get the chance to capture it until now!

Macro Mondays: Crinkled, Wrinkled, Folded or Creased

Thank you all for your views, faves and/or comments! It’s greatly appreciated! Happy MM! :-)

I guess she was happy to see me.....ha ha. This is pretty mama in my front yard. She had four babies but it's been a rough year for her as only two remain.

She let go.

She let go. Without a thought or a word, she let go.

She let go of the fear.

She let go of the judgments.

She let go of the confluence of opinions swarming around her head.

She let go of the committee of indecision within her.

She let go of all the ‘right’ reasons.

Wholly and completely, without hesitation or worry, she just let go.

She didn’t ask anyone for advice.

She didn’t read a book on how to let go.

She didn’t search the scriptures.

She just let go.

She let go of all of the memories that held her back.

She let go of all of the anxiety that kept her from moving forward.

She let go of the planning and all of the calculations about how to do it just right.

She didn’t promise to let go.

She didn’t journal about it.

She didn’t write the projected date in her Day-Timer.

She made no public announcement and put no ad in the paper.

She didn’t check the weather report or read her daily horoscope.

She just let go.

She didn’t analyze whether she should let go.

She didn’t call her friends to discuss the matter.

She didn’t do a five-step Spiritual Mind Treatment.

She didn’t call the prayer line.

She didn’t utter one word.

She just let go.

No one was around when it happened.

There was no applause or congratulations.

No one thanked her or praised her.

No one noticed a thing.

Like a leaf falling from a tree, she just let go.

There was no effort.

There was no struggle.

It wasn’t good and it wasn’t bad.

It was what it was, and it is just that.

In the space of letting go, she let it all be.

A small smile came over her face.

A light breeze blew through her.

And the sun and the moon shone forevermore…

Wainhouse Tower, Halifax. January 2023

What gives the tower its local name of The Tower of Spite is a dispute between Wainhouse and his neighbouring grandee, industrialist Sir Henry Edwards. The two men were forever squabbling on all sorts of matters in the local courts, and Edwards, a Justice of the Peace, had on occasion to stand down from the bench to fight his corner. Newspaper coverage of the time shows that those in the public gallery thoroughly enjoyed these spectacles, and their reaction is scattered throughout the reports in parentheses: (laughter), (groans), (hear hear), (applause).

One exchange centred on an accusation that Wainhouse had said that ‘if he had a knife, he would have plunged it into Edwards’.

Wainhouse denied this and was asked to vouch for his honesty:

Mr Bond: will you swear on that?

Mr Wainhouse: I will swear on that and he is a #x@£x@%**!

The two men appear to have gone out of their way to rile each other. In perhaps the ultimate example Wainhouse literally allowed the masses to look down on his enemy.

If only art had an I.V, baby could I bear? Being away from you, I found the vein, put it in here.

I just had the feeling the soybeans were applauding the sunrise. Thanks for the look and have a great Evening.

The aptly named 'little' Grebe is in fact a very proficient fisher bird., and being 'little'., this is actually a quite impressive 'catch'

The look in the eye is almost: 'not bad eh?'

And there was no way that anything was going to take this hard earned meal away from our little friend., straight after this picture was taken it scampered off into the reeds., fish in beak

It may not be the biggest., but it makes for a lovely photograph., and maybe a round of applause!

Don't spit on me and shame yourself

Because you wish you were someone else

You look so clean but you spread your dirt

As if you think that words don't hurt

You build up walls no one can climb

The things you do should be a crime

You're the queen of superficiality

Keep your lies out of my reality

And when you're nice it's just a pose

You're one of those

Thank you for your kind visit. Have a wonderful and beautiful day! ❤️❤️❤️

Lili's biggest dream is to play her cello in a sold out concert, feel butterflies flying in her stomach before going on stage, pick all the roses that have been thrown to her... I wish I could make her dream come true one day. ♥

How are you guys? ^_^ I would love to hear what you've been up to!

I'm doing great even though my school began last week. I'm having one extra English course for the matriculation exam that I have next fall. I'm already so so nervous about the exam because I feel like my English isn't good enough. x__x I just have to keep studying!

Clapper Rail (Gulf Coast) (Rallus crepitans)

Get it? Clapper?

Bizarre story behind this shot. I was just sitting quietly watching a resting Reddish Egret with the hope that it might provide a photo op when I look over and see this rail swimming towards me. Even after I turned and pointed my camera at him, he just kept swimming by and headed right into the mangroves that I was sitting next to. My camera settings were set for daylight so when he swam under the mangroves only the portion of the frame that had filtered sunlight was exposed properly. I loved the colors of the water trailing behind.

Of all music, that which most pleases the ear is applause. But it has no score. It ends and is carried off by the wind. Nothing remains.

ODC- round of applause, Three cheers for Tandem Glassworks, Dresden, Maine.

This was taken while at the Portland Fine Crafts Festival 0n 8/27/16, Portland, Maine.

A Ruby Throated Hummingbird claps as I manage to get its photo. Hummers are one of my favorite all-time birds and they migrate through my region in the Spring and Fall.

A blast from the past.

As a warm up act it was just about acceptable. It didn't receive any applause though.

I thought it would be a good one to post for Floral Friday.

I certainly wasn't expecting to see this today, nor the Nissan Sunny just ahead of it. This banger yard has been a consistent source of photos for years now, and despite the current situation it didn't disappoint when I took the Applause a run out there today.

Both from 1993, both two-tone...

This is the trouble maker at the park, a mix of Canada goose and Peking duck I presume,

He always fights with other geese, on this photo he was happy me taking his photo:-)
