Parrnassius apollo from French Alps Mountain , summer 2014
Restez à l'affût, une grande nouvelle au sujet des papillons sera annoncée bientôt en fin de semaine prochaine !
I decided to redress my Isul Apollo this past weekend but was kind of appalled by my lack of boy clothes, I eventually found a pair of pants to fit him (Grell's) but I failed to find him a shirt. One of my friends saw him shirtless and decided all he really needed to complete his new look was Melissa's hat. Couldn't resist taking a few pics him haha.

This isn't a good picture or anything - but still special to me after I read that this butterfly is an endangered species, so I wanted to share. I think I never saw it before, tried to take a pic (and there was an electrical fence between us) and before I could get any closer it flew away. Anyway - I'm glad to have seen it :)

Sorting out the attic, I recently came across my Astronauts' autograph collection from the 1970s, including the first and last men to set foot on the moon (Armstrong and Cernan). Most of the autographs are 'Autopen' - a machine-made copy of the real signature, but a couple of them are personalised, so maybe they are real signatures. Bottom centre is Neil Armstrong's on a piece of card. I have autographs for all the astronauts who flew from Apollo 7 to 15.
Apollo with kithara and phiale, is portrayed in front a woman, probably Artemis, purging libation liquid from an oinochoe. This lekythos belonged to the Michael P. Vlastos' collection, now housed in the Athens N.A.M.

Apollo Community Regional Park, named in honor of the Apollo 11 astronauts, was dedicated in 1972 and features three man-made lakes. The 54-acre park has walking paths around all three lakes.
Outbound Darwin Harbour on a rainy stormy afternoon 221126 ENERGY APOLLO (IMO: 9891438) is a Oil/Chemical Tanker that was built in 2020 (2 years ago) and is sailing under the flag of United Kingdom. It’s carrying capacity is 49812 t DWT and her current draught is reported to be 10.9 meters. Her length overall (LOA) is 182.9 meters and her width is 32.2 meters.

I understand that Coventry Theatre became the Apollo in 1979 and it closed in 1985 and became the Gala Bingo Hall after that. Thanks to Mr Radio (see comment below) we now think that that this photograph is 1983. I had originally thought 1979 but then changed to 80-82 because the bus here has 'W' reg plate (Aug80-Jul81) - but Mr Radio has nailed it.. Also, looking at the patchy paintwork on the theatre, it looks like a couple of years may have passed since it was painted which ties in with the 1983 date.
See link below for a photo taken during demolition.

The Apollo Intensa Emozione hitting the streets of the Geneva for the first time. What a stunning machine!
One of Bratislava´s new bridges. I didn´t expect the reflection on stone. The square by Danube is probably made from granite. Was a great night down by the beautiful river.
I really like taking night shots, especially by the water. All the lights, all the reflections, it's just great. The only problem is to get up in the morning the next day :)
HDR from three shots, taken with Canon 450D with Sigma 10-20mm lens, from a gorilla pod. Again, very disappointed with the gorillapod. My should carry 3kg, my camera has around 1.5kg, and it can't hold it at all. Will probably just throw it out, as soon as I buy a new tripod.

Ecco il Sole piegarsi all’abisso,
fiamma sospesa tra cielo e mare,
carro d’Apollo che sfiora l’orizzonte,
fondendo oro e sangue nell’ultima corsa.
Il Mediterraneo lo accoglie in silenzio,
eco di dèi e canti svaniti,
mentre il fuoco si dissolve nell’onda,
promessa eterna di un ritorno.
