How can we get began?

First look for a live action clip that you want. Then use world wide web (or any web site you can use to download footage from, say, YouTube) to download the recording. YouTube won't allow you to download their videos directly so you have to visit a 3rd party website to get this done.

So you've the recording downloaded - ok now what?

Now you have to edit the recording right length. Trim it lower to size in appropriate animation company, for example Premiere Pro, or Final Cut Pro, or Quick Time Pro, til you have edited it lower to simply the part that you would like. Reserve it like a .mov or .avi file. Maya appears to love .movs, mostly.

Now, open Maya

Open Maya, produce a new project, name it, and hang for your new project within the usual way. Now adopt these measures:

Copy the recording to your Movies folder inside your Maya project folder.

Within the Maya viewport, visit panels/orthographic/side

Now visit View/image plane/Import movie. The film file ought to be directly imported into Maya. Underneath the show menu switch on image planes so the image plane is seen inside your viewport. Press 6 in your keyboard so you're in texture mode.

Inside your perspective view, or perhaps your camera view, you must also switch on image planes underneath the show menu so the image plane is seen.

Import your character rig in to the shot, and you're prepared to animate. Begin by matching your animation company carefully towards the reference footage.

After you have something working reasonably well, you can begin to regulate the timing and also the spacing to produce a believable performance.
