Sarah has this little Android guy on her key chain from work (she's a T-Mobile manager), and I thought it would be a cool shot to put him up against my iPhone.
Took a bit of planning and some (mediocre) editing but I think I'm pleased with the result.
Strobist info: 580exII camera left up high with bounce umbrella, 430exII camera right and behind, bare, zoomed into 105mm 1/16th power. All triggered with pocket wizards.

Mrs. Claus stands by the Polar Express train that carries homeless dogs to no-kill shelters in Northern states.

Operation Pets Alive (operationpetsalive.org) had a booth at the "International Winter on the Waterway" (iWoW) event, held, November 17, 2012. We had a booth filled with hand-made pet-related crafts (including wonderful handsewn aprons in many patterns), along with a "Polar Express" theme, complete with a perfectly-attired "Mrs. Claus". The booth was a huge success.

Located at the northwest corner of Park Avenue and 60th Street, the church was built primarily during 1931–1933. Church services began in 1933 but financial impacts of the Great Depression and shortages of World War II prevented the mosaics planned for the interior from being executed until 1948–49. The church was designed by Ralph Adams Cram, who is known for his Gothic Revival ecclesiastical architecture. While designing this church, he used a combination of Romanesque and Byzantine Revival styles instead.

A frileuse is a woman subject to cold. A marble version (Musée Fabre, Montpellier), dated 1783, was originally intended as an allegory of Winter. For the Museum's bronze, cast by Houdon himself and coming from the collection of the duc d'Orléans, Houdon stripped the spiraling columnar composition to its bare essentials. The girl's tremulous flesh is offset by her tightly drawn shawl, elegant but hardly adequate.

Before this, the phone I was using was from my graduation.After almost 6 years of usage, one day while coming back from office, the phone fell from the pocket,crashed on the road,and split in half.
So it was time to look for a new phone.

This plot was to have been a 17 story hotel, though as with many sites there was either a stop work order, or the deal fell through completely.

I feel how this section of Long Island City is on the brink of blasting off on the super sonic gentrification rocket, as the LIC BID expanded into this area, and the building pace will increase significantly in 2026.
Android phone + Instagram = Images that I normally don't get to capture. This is a shallow lake off the back end of a country road that I pass whenever I pick up or return dogs to K9 Heeler, a boarding place not far from my house. Taken from my New Dog Lady Van. Battled mosquitoes to get the shot!
NOTE:
I've had 18 members of my husband's family at my house, with the first folks arriving June 18th and the last folks leaving on June 26th. On June 22nd, Friday night, 16 people were sleeping at our house, not counting the dogs! I've been taking photos on my phone and on my camera but haven't had any time (Feeding 21 people three squares a day is challenge, although they all help out!). Just wanted my Flickr Friends to know that I'll be back in touch very soon!
