A Praia Grande de Salvaterra fica dentro da cidade, nas margens do lago Caraparú, na região do Marajó.
Suas margens são cerca de dois quilômetros de areias brancas, banhadas por águas doces, que provocam ondas e sofrem a influencia da maré diária, deixando por várias horas muitas pedras expostas.
Esta é a praia principal da cidade de Salvaterra. Possui uma ótima infraestrutura em estradas, bares, restaurantes e pousadas.
