TIA’S LATEST PHOTO VIDEO: “Can’t Get New York Out of My Head"
Hello, dear Flickr friends. Alas, I have returned from New York City, the proud older brother of my sister, who became an alumni member with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance after her graduation from the Stern School of Business at New York University on May 17th. This will be her first summer in four years to relax a little bit before she starts her first full-time position as a Finance Analyst for IBM in August. I could not be prouder. Part of my gift to her was a night flight in style over Manhattan via helicopter.
We had decided that the night of May 16th would be ideal because the Empire State Building would be lit purple and white, the colors of NYU -- the perfect tribute and treat, right? Well, as you can see, the ESB’s colors are blue and white. Why, you might wonder? As it turned out, the ESB had observed NYU the night before, when it rained heavily and there was no visibility. However, this turned out to be our saving grace because we would not have been able to fly out that night. Instead, what we see here is the ESB’s observation of the Class of 2012 from the other major school in Manhattan. . .Columbia University! In the end, it didn’t really matter. The entire city was electrifying on this clear, momentous night.
It was absolutely nothing short of spectacular.

I don't know if this insect belongs to the bee sp. or wasp sp. I also am not sure why its legs are folded with only its mandibles gripping the twig for support.
Is it trying to test the strength of his mandibles? Or is it just trying to get some good rest? Anyone who can help me ID this insect?

My first attempt to exposure blending (Lightroom + Photoshop). The final result is not crisp sharp due to handheld bracketing + original jpg files instead of raw but I was able to highlight what I wanted in this shot.

Through reading God’s words and through the sister’s fellowships, I came to understand God’s work and His will. I nodded, feeling deeply moved, and I said, “Thanks be to God! Through listening to the word of Almighty God, I have come to understand that, in the last days, God uses the truth of His word to carry out the work of judging and cleansing man. My past pursuits were so vague and unrealistic. Now I understand that it is only through accepting God’s work of judgment and chastisement in the last days that man will be able to be cleansed by God, attain full salvation, and enter into the kingdom of heaven. Almighty God is the returned Lord Jesus! I am willing to accept Almighty God’s work of the last days and accept the judgment and chastisement of God’s words so that my corrupt dispositions may someday soon be changed.” After hearing me say this, the sister smiled happily, and continuously gave her thanks to God.

some of my friends and i were on a boat trip, as at the top of pilatus a cb began to grow, covering the sun. the air was quite humid, so that the sun rays broke in the water droplets, making those intense beams visible.

Description: Undocking of Celebrity Solstice.
The undockiing of the largest cruiseship ever built in Germany - at the world's largest building dock after the 500+m dock extension has been finished by a couple of months - is quite some happening on a windy Sunday morning starting at 7am. Over 200 photographs were shot and a lot of processing to go :) For those who are interested, here's a link to a selection of low-res originals that I've uploaded for different ship-related news sites and newspapers.
The new ship for Celebrity Cruises (Miami/USA), Celebrity Solstice, undocked from the Meyer Werft’s covered building dock II in Papenburg (DL) on Sunday, 10 August 2008. The weather conditions were favorable, despite a strong wind. The ship's two funnels, for instance, will be mounted on the following Monday. The river Ems passage to the sea trials port in Eemshaven (Netherlands) will take place on 27 September 2008.
The new ship has a length overall of 315 m, a breadth of 36.80 m, and will be able to operate at a speed of more than 24 knots.. More than 2,858 passengers can be accommodated in 1,426 cabins. That makes this cruiser the largest cruiseship ever built in Germany.

The pen is mightier than the sword.

I was looking through my wheel and I noticed a familiar number on it, which so happened to be a 25th motor. Luckily I had the chance to snap this photo during the crisp Nebraska golden hour

( so totally ruined it with the high ISO .. I was clicking the interiors when i walked out and saw this and immediately took the shot :( ... not happy but I love this scene). This has been shot at Fatehpur Sikri near Agra, North India. These are graves of the blood line of Sufi Saint Salim Chisti whose Tomb is located in this place. This place is a holy shrine for people of all religions and it is said He could do miracles and hence people come here from all over to pray and get their prayers answered.

We were out for a nature walk today, when we noticed a funny looking tree. Reasonably, we put our dog on top of it. Scarlett then began to conclude her plans for world domination and finally hold the power of the world in her hands. to let the wind blow in her face as she sat on top of her tree, looking mighty and heroic.
We build golden towers and bow down before the almighty dollar as the earth dies around us. And what will ignoring it bring? What will be left for my kids? For their kids? Does anyone even care?
I love Lego's new Thor, it's really nice. I just wish that his hammer had proper coloring, so I just painted the top of it myself.
