The photographer Lewis Hine is known today as a man who worked toward reform for the working person. His photography highlighted the extreme conditions they worked in. What is less known is he did work "for the man." This included work for the Pennsylvania Railroad.
I like to think that this photo I took on 7-24-2009 of two SP No. 4449 mechanics working the almighty Alemite gun in Alma, MI is one where I paid homage to Hines.

A 'squared circle' from the cover of The Almighty's debut album from 1989 'Blood Fire & Love' They produced a few more albums in the 90`s, which is when I last saw them live in 1993. They disbanded in 1996, but formed again in 2000 before parting ways again the following year after producing 2 more records.
This almighty booming bark was coming from the back of a utility at the local footy. What a friggin monster!
Coming back from the Annapurna Base Camp, my legs sore like rarely, all I could think about was to take a rest, taking that picture was welcome.

Going up to the top of flat Tianmen Mountain on a cable car.
A cable car that is said to be the "longest passenger cableway of high mountains in the world", with 98 cars and a total length of 7,455 metres (24,459 ft). But who cares? What's important is what's around the cable car!
I can also advise you to check the picture at full scale to apprehend the magnitude of the place in details. For scale as well, you have a bus on the road.

Disfrute nocturno total. Unas cuantas horas con Jose Miguel Martinez aprendiendo paisaje astronómico, probando sus juguetes y practicando nuestra afición, bajo un cielo espectacular que sólo unos pocos privilegiados tenemos a nuestro alcance.
No es la mejor cara de la espectacular Vía Láctea, pero una larga exposición con seguimiento y un objetivo luminoso revelan la inmensidad del cosmos, y su belleza.

El primer plano a contraluz de esa pequeña contaminación lumínica sitúan la escena y cumplen con nuestro objetivo: nightscape o paisaje astronómico.
Queda mucho que aprender y muchas noches que practicar, pero ya me estoy imaginando planeando un viaje a los cielos de Utah...... eh josemi?
