This unit's tape drive was broken, due to the rubber drive wheel being reduced to a sticky gunk. He used solvent to clean the mess and fashioned a new drive wheel out of silicone hose/tubing.

Sketching of McIce HTPC speaker cover doors and the front panel.

(not the final version)

McIce HTPC has a powerfull computer integrated into a furniture. It is meant to be used with a full hd projector and a large screen. It can be controlled using a back-lit wireless keyboard + mouse and can be accessed from anywhere via internet. It can be controlled using a smartphone too.

One can attach any pc hardware on it - such as alarm system and gaming devices etc... One unit that replaces all the separate devices and their remote controllers.

It can handle FULL HD material, On-Demand videos, HD-TV broadcast, Blu-Ray disks etc... It also works easily with the latest games thanks to a powerfull graphic card. Unlike normal HTPCs McIce HTPC has the most powerfull components so that you don´t need to worry can the hardware handle the software you want to instal - it can. The cooling and noise issue is solved using isolation of the noisy components, silent fans and long sound absorbing conduits.

Jorma singing and playing with characteristic intensity. The man is good at this!

The guitar is his ES-335 that had a basically green psychedelic paint job, black around the upper bouts and cutaways, as you can see here. My recollection is that it had a an oversize knob (like a door knob) on the front- master volume? Big rotary switch? I'll see if I have a different picture that shows it more clearly.

This would be after Jorma and Jack Casady both got very short haircuts. It was said, at the time, that they had taken up speed skating on vacation and the tight hair reduced drag. I have no idea if this is true or not. I saw Hot Tuna 3 times between the last Jefferson Airplane show in 1972 and, uh, 1975, lets say. I have the sense that this was later rather than earlier, because I was getting better at framing and exposing my photographs (!)

A scan of a very old proof sheet, so the quality is frankly bad. So much dust/grain! So I took a artistic license and just fixed the disfiguring blobs (copy and stamp) within the illuminated part, leaving the random edge-of-the-Milky-Way noise everywhere else. Its so bad its even affecting that sprocket holes, which had no film in the way at all. So this is making a virtue of a necessity. The sprockets and frame numbers are legit, not edited in after.

It doesn't say but this would be Tri-X and I seem to have pushed it to, uh, 1600? 6400? (2 or 4 stops) See how "31" and "31A" have bloomed? Rodinol? Something else? Don't remember.

This is the third Tagtool projection system I have built, following instructions on tagtool.org

The Tagtool system is designed to be plugged into a projector, allowing the user to effectively 'draw' on anything. It is an open source project by OMA International, based in Vienna.

I wanted to make one that I could take out and set up as quickly as possible. So I built a computer inside an old military flight case, along with a Wacom graphics tablet and Tagtool Arduino circuit.

The top panel is made from 3mm laser cut MDF and sits on a frame made from 25mm pine.
