Dressing to impress has never been very high on our list of things to do!
There were several fancy dress or "Formal" nights on the cruise and although it might seem hard to believe we didn't partake in a single one. The folks who did however were something to see!
For people who enjoy getting dressed up to the nines and parading around like they're at an awards night the formal dinners are definitely the place to be. Tuxedos and tiaras were plentiful, everyone on their best behaviour, and an elegant meal rounded out the evening for these fine folks.
We like to cruise. For us, it's an opportunity to see new places and get away from the realities of the world for a bit. All the material things fade away and we get the opportunity to live in the moment, not worrying about what the next moment might bring. We're not here to show off our fineries, we're here to have a good time and dressing up is not a good time for us.
Big thanks to Niccy for striking a pose at exactly the right time!
Oh, for those who might wonder we didn't photobomb anyone's pictures, we're not there to mess up their evening but there to poke a little bit of fun at it.

For those in the Show Your EXIF group you should note that the actual lens used is a Tamron AF 18-200mm F/3.5-6.3 Di-II VC All-in-One Zoom for Canon APS-C Digital SLR. For some crazy reason it always shows up as a Canon TS-E 90mm f/2.8, a lens I've never owned or used!

This unit's tape drive was broken, due to the rubber drive wheel being reduced to a sticky gunk. He used solvent to clean the mess and fashioned a new drive wheel out of silicone hose/tubing.

This is the end result of someone thinking their time is more important than someone else's. We were keeping tabs on the Google Map and there were several peripheral accidents that came out of the main one.
On our way home from a Sunday drive on a Saturday we came across a bit of a mess.
Seems that a truck on the freeway (I-10) had decided to catch fire and block both lanes of traffic. One lane was finally opened to get the traffic flowing, however this took about 2 hours after the accident and with no exits on this section of freeway we found ourselves stuck in the middle.
Lucky for us we had packed a picnic lunch along with plenty of water since the heat was up to 102° F with a slight breeze from the East with a clear sky.

Das Tier des Jahres 2015 ist der Feldhase. Durch Umwelteinflüsse sei der Bestand stark zurückgegangen, teilte die Schutzgemeinschaft Deutsches Wild am Montag in Bonn mit.
Auf der bundesweiten Roten Liste wird der Feldhase als gefährdet eingestuft. Nach Angaben des Naturschutzbundes Deutschland (Nabu) findet das Tier nur noch schwer den benötigten Lebensraum auf den Feldern. In der intensiven Landwirtschaft mit großen Ackerflächen fehlen ihm Ackerrandstreifen und kleinere Gehölze. Rebhuhn, Kiebitz, Feldlerche und Fasan teilen dieses Schicksal.

I just hooked up this brand new Samsung laserprinter/scanner/photocopier (SCX-4500).
It is fantastic. Sits right behind my iphone for service loveliness.
1. Install was dead simple.
2. Acts like a stand-alone copier... one button and viola!
3. One-touch scanning... auto save to desktop.
4. On-panel display is beautiful... big blue dots (like the Meta type face arrow) and a sleek blue light follows the copy action.
5. It's super quiet.
6. Form factor tiny.
7. Sexy x5. It's right behind Alec Baldwin on my to-do list.

Sunday morning I used my newly purchased UCEC Video Capture Pro software to transfer some 1984 analog VHS video tapes to digital format. The software works well but the learning curve is a bit of a brick-wall as it doesn't want to remember how it was setup the previous session.
I have a good understanding of how it's supposed to work because I've transferred many VHS tapes to digital using Pinnacle Studio's
Dazzle interface and software back in the 90' (I bought my first desktop PC in 1987).
