So it's taken two days to totally gut my room (that's how much stuff I have LOL) and now finally its down to a bare minimum. With the emptying complete the ceiling can be painted tomorrow :D. Thought I'd do a quick self portrait of myself in my very empty room.
The marks on the walls are sandpaper marks from where I've had to remove them annoying double sided sticky pads LOL.

Being by the ocean always puts a smile on her face!
As we were walking to board the ship Niccy stopped for a moment and I fired off a quick shot. Being by the ocean always makes her happy, especially since she grew up on the beaches of Durban. I've always thought it was good for a person to get a little Vitamin Sea, and this is the result!
Niccy and I just got back from a 2 week cruise down in the Caribbean, a trip that was supposed to be in the UK but thanks to the whole covid fiasco that was not meant to be. We were on the P&O Britannia and as we quickly found out we were the only Americans aboard! We had a good time, got to see some new ports and enjoyed the weather.

As I said previously people were starting to loosen up and getting in the party mood. Everyone was having a good time when I saw these folks.
I have no idea who they are or who they were waving at. I seriously doubt it was me since a person pointing a camera at someone hardly ever brings a wave, more like a shaking fist. No matter, I took the shot and it came out not half bad. I did have to do a non-standard crop on this to get rid of some distracting fluff in the background, one of those things you deal with when you're out in public.

The VEGA SCORPIO (IMO: 9491599) is a Container Ship and is sailing under the flag of Cyprus. Her length overall (LOA) is 139.26 meters and her width is 22.6 meters.
As I've said above we've seen the Vega Scorpio in several different ports throughout the Caribbean. In this shot she was pretty close to loaded and getting ready to make way for some distant place....
Now that I look at this I suppose you could call this a study of angles?

It's actually pretty easy for these folks, it appears they just set it once and forget it!
The ships photographers were setting up to take photos for the first formal night on board. They had several poses that they ran everybody through, almost like a production line process. I tried to talk with them a bit when I saw them on deck but they really weren't interested in shop talk. I never saw them fiddling with any settings, it appeared that everyone got exactly the same.

It's good when you find that thing that makes you happy!
Being out to sea is really relaxing for us but Niccy decided to take that relaxation to the next level.
She had been working on a hand sewn quilt for several months prior to our trip and decided to bring it with for the long plane ride. She got quite a bit done on the plane and was able to get it finished sitting out on the back deck as we sailed along.
This was a good and bad thing actually. Good that she got it finished, bad because we came home with a suitcase half filled with new material that she picked up in the different ports!

Walking with two drinks was a pretty common sight on this cruise with both men and women, not something I've noticed much on our other trips. I guess that UK folks are wanting to make sure that their hydration level is always up?
Now when I was much, much younger if you saw your friend (or pretty much anyone) with two drinks in their hands you'd say they were Double Fisting it which was the original title I was going to use for the shot.
DO NOT AND I MEAN ABSOLUTELY DO NOT LOOK UP THE MODERN DEFINITION OF DOUBLE FISTING. IT IS DEFINITELY NSFW!!! DON'T BLAME ME IF YOU SEE THINGS THAT SHOCK YOUR EYELIDS!
I got no further than the first description (not even a link click) on Google when I realized that Double Fisting It was definitely NOT going to be the title of this shot!

When I took this shot I wasn't planning on getting these guys or the look, I was actually looking at Ma and Pa in the background. They looked like they had a story to tell and unfortunately these fellows decided to shot block me. Imagine that, a photographer getting in the way of a photographer!

When we hit Grenada things were looking good on the weather front. It was a bit cloudy but the rain showers had passed by so hopefully we would have a dry day.
With any luck it was a great day for these folks who were headed out on a tour of some sort, but we definitely had different plans. We'd been here before and we knew where we wanted to go and what we wanted to do....

I know nothing about who or what Margaret was but it's evident that someone does.
The season is changing here in Arizona, going from our blazing hot to pretty comfortable. Niccy and I decided to take a Sunday Drive on a Saturday to find a nice place for a picnic lunch on a beautiful day.
We headed South on Highway 82 out of Sonoita and were bound for Nogales (AZ, not MX). The trees along Sonoita Creek were wearing some real pretty Fall plumage so I stopped along the road for Niccy to get a couple of snaps she could text to all our friends who live in much colder climes and tout the benefits of AZ in the Fall/Winter.
I was just wandering around when I came across this roadside memorial. It's pretty common down here in the Southwest so not an unusual sight.
I have no idea who Margaret was and the cross gives no clue but she must have meant a lot to someone since they took the time and effort to put this up. The least I could do to honor her life is to grab a shot and post it here. For most of us something like this will be the most remembrance we ever get.

It was probably our second or third cruise that this started. We were in Curacao doing the tourist thing which is walking around the port. We came up on a shop that had a sign that said "Big Mama Sizes Available". Niccy laughed and said "That fits me"! and ever since then we've always laughed when we saw a sign that referenced plus size women.
Niccy isn't a what you'd call model on the runway and she knows she'll never be. She accepts that and I certainly do since she's beautiful to me and I don't want her to change. I like my girls with a little fat on the end just like Rodney Carrington:

The USS RAMAGE (DDG-61) docked at Fort Trumbull Pier in New London for the Connecticut Maritime Heritage Festival.
I for one really don't appreciate someone telling me what I should be shooting!
Waiting at the station for the train to arrive and I came across this sign. It reminded me of the Kodak/Nikon Picture Spots at Disneyland so I had to grab a shot. Yeah, I was the one who took a picture of the sign instead of the scenic backdrop that the sign recommended.
By the way don't bother going to the URL on the sign, all you'll get is a nice 404 error. Maybe they got tired of people posting snapshots?
Since I don't use social media I'm not holding my breath waiting for my railway prize!
