The alien is looking for his base with a map of the local public transportation system, which strangely resembles crop circles.
We won the first prize in a local youth photo contest with this series. :-)
Lighting: strobe (Nikon SB-24 on manual) on a 3m cable from the left, held by a friend.
Model: Wolf
Makeup: Alexandra Kühnel (it was her first time making a bald head cap).
The only editing I did was removing the eyes, smoothening the transition between cap and skin a tiny bit and changing the eye color.
Looking out towards the top of the Minneapolis Skyline from the upper deck of Target Field, the halo on top of the Capella Tower is green for Earth Day, last year it was pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, it is usually white in color. Click on photo for alien look.
Alien Heisenberg's may have landed here. That is, if The Uncertainty Principle holds true for all beings of the universe.
The frame is an Alien (with a Time carbon fork 1”) which was added a set of cable stops, a set of water bottle braze-ons, a small tube at seatstay bridge for a brake and the rear triangle was chromed.
I decided to substitute the original fork due its short steerer tube that only allows a Tange Passage headset or an old Shimano 105 with 33mm stack height.
The crankset is an old Campy Pista (drive side) 165mm and 144BCD, and the left side was a Campy Strada (drive side) that I converted to non-drive side and a machine shop rethreaded it in order to accept a left pedal (it thread s counterclockwise).
The other parts are as follow:
- Headset: Campy Record;
- Stem: Litespeed (titanium);
- Handlebar: Azonic Double Wall Riser (50 cm);
- Grips: Oury;
- Brake Levers: Suntour XC Pro (champagne);
- Seatpost: Record Aero;
- Saddle: Brooks Professional;
- Bottom Bracket: Sampson Titanium 107mm;
- Chainring: Sugino Mighty Competition 44T ;
- Chain: KMC Z610 HX - 3/32";
- Pedals: Chorus Aero with Brooks straps;
- Rims: Mavic CXP22 ;
- Front Hub: C-Record Pista;
- Rear Hub: IRO flip-flop (low flange);
- Track Cog: IRO 17T ;
- Lockring: Wheel Mfg;
- Freewheel: Eno 17T by White Industries;
- /Brakes: Campy Chorus;
- Tires: Slime 700x25.
It is as very nice ride.
Some of these weeds were taller than me - and there were hordes of them, like an invading army - in the small patch of meadows south of Old Bath Road...

Using Lab Color mode, in Photoshop (Image>Mode>Lab Color), I used a Curves layer to force the colors of this clover-like lifeform further apart for emphasis.
[ I might have used a Hue/Saturation Layer for "Transport" ;-) ]

Completed castings of the upper torso for the Alien Warrior - ALIEN 86 - 1:18 scale. Molds came out great for each piece, and the castings reflect that. No problems - which surprises me for all the complexity but enough venting in the right places makes for happy resin castings. The "pipes" are casts taken from my 79 Alien, attached temporarily using some wax clay. I will also be using the lower torso sculpt from the 79 beast for the warrior...no need for a do over in the sculpting department.
I see why toy companies like to reuse parts..saves money and time (as long as they are used properly). Want to begin working on the arms soon. Cast using Smooth On Smooth Cast 320. May begin using a different, stronger Smooth-on casting material soon. #alien #aliens #xenomorph #casting #resin #smoothon #hive #actionfigure

A normal beach transformed into an Alien Landscape.
An apocalyptic sky fulfilled with twirly clouds!
So... this guy might have been influenced a little by Giger's Aliens.
