Solve Algebra Equations are the equations of the form algebraic variables with some numerical co-efficient. Algebra equation contains the terms like numbers, integers, fractions, roots, exponents, ratios, graphing etc. Pre algebra equation is the simple equation which can be solved easily without any complex calculations. Linear equation is an algebraic equation in which each term is either a constant or the product of a constant and with a single variable. It contains one or more variables. It occurs with great regularity in applied mathematics.
Kate held an algebra exam, and I put together some flash drives decorated with beads for the highest scores.
It was so tempting....my camera was sitting right beside my algebra textbook while I was doing my homework!
The Postcard
A Premier Series postcard with artwork by G. F.
The card was posted in Birmingham using a ½d. stamp on Saturday the 8th. July 1905. The card was sent to:
Mrs. Bernard Maguire,
'Balmoral',
Marine Parade,
Barmouth.
The recipient's name and address stretched across the undivided back of the card, so that the only message was on the front.
Algie (Not Algy) and Algebra
'Algie is Awfully Good at Algebra' features in the musical comedy 'Three Little Maids.'
The song was written for the comedy by the short-lived Paul Rubens (1875 - 1917). Paul studied law at Oxford and acted there, as well as writing music for the dramatic efforts of his fellow undergraduates. He retired to Cornwall and died of tuberculosis at the age of 41.
The song was performed in the show by Maurice Farkoa who played the part of Monsieur DeLorme. Here are the lyrics to the song:

Three Little Maids
Three Little Maids is an English musical by Paul Rubens with additional songs by Percy Greenbank and Howard Talbot. The story concerns three simple curate's daughters who go to London to earn their living serving tea in a Bond Street tea shop.
They become the romantic rivals of three ladies of fashion, but succeed because of their freshness.
The musical opened at the Apollo Theatre in London on the 10th. May 1902 and later transferred to the Prince of Wales Theatre, running for a total of 348 performances.
Edna May, Delia Mason and Lily Elsie each starred as Edna Branscombe.
There was also a Broadway production in 1903 and international tours. The title characters were played in New York by Maggie May, Madge Crichton, and Delia Mason. The New York Times gave the show a rave review after its opening night in New York:
"It is just possible that there have
been better musical comedies ...
but if there have, nobody in the
audience could think of them at
the end of the evening.
It was the marvel of good looks,
good dancing, and good acting
working together for the common
weal."
The paper particularly praised the humour of G. P. Huntley and Maurice Farkoa. Another rave review was published in the New York Dramatic Mirror.
The President's Daughter
So what else happened on the day that the card was posted?
Well, on the 8th. July 1905, U.S. President Roosevelt sent his 21-year-old daughter, Alice Roosevelt Longworth, and her party on a diplomatic journey to Japan, the Philippines, Hong Kong, China and Korea.
France and Germany
Also on that day, France accepted Germany's terms for a conference at Tangier to resolve their dispute in Morocco.
Walter Kittredge
The 8th. July 1905 also marked the death at the age of 70 of the American musician and songwriter Walter Kittredge.
Walter is best known for the military song "Tenting on the Old Camp Ground."
Walter Kittredge, who was born on the 6th. October 1834, was a famous musician during the American Civil War.
Born in Merrimack, New Hampshire, the tenth of eleven children, Kittredge was a talented self-taught musician who played the seraphine, the melodeon (types of reed-like organs), and the violin.
Kittredge toured solo and with the Hutchinson Family, a musical troupe. Over his career he wrote over 500 songs, many of them dealing with themes of the American Civil War.
His most famous song, Tenting on the Old Camp Ground, also known as "Tenting Tonight", was sung by both sides of the war, and is known throughout the world.
Kittredge had offered the song to a Boston publisher for $15 and been rejected; but when it was published several months later, ten thousand copies were sold within the first three months.
Walter had been drafted into the American Civil War in 1863, but prior to his physical, had experienced a severe attack of rheumatic fever, and been rejected by the draft board.
Unable to sleep that night, he was inspired to compose his most famous song. Kittredge stated that:
"I actually saw the whole scene,
as described in the song."
Kittredge was also a noted supporter of abolitionism and the Temperance movement.
Walter married Annie E. Fairfield in 1861, and in 1905, he died in his birthplace, a house on Bedford Road, Merrimack, NH.

The Math department at North County High School enlisted roster artist Christina Delgado to help teach Algebra 1 concepts. The visual artist worked with the teachers and students and guided them through the art of photography to produce images that symbolize different points on a Piecewise Graph—and the students absolutely loved it!
After their final images were printed, students plotted their stories using a piecewise graph directly onto the photo, then added multimedia collage elements.
