Always a pleasure stopping by MCS. These days its a bit more "clean", but I miss the days of decay here.
A portfolio of six (6) images (Image: 11-1/4 x 26-3/8 inches; Overall: 13" x 30") printed in Epson UltraChrome ink on smooth natural finish rag paper. Available only as a collection of six (6) unmounted, signed and dated prints for $900.
On August 4, 2015 a great storm with winds measured over 100 mph devastated portions of the forest of Leelanau, Michigan near Traverse City, with trees bringing down power lines and closing roads around Glen Arbor. Some of those forests will never fully recover. The piece of Birch log in this set of pictures was chain-sawed by workers out of a tangled heap of trees felled by the storm to clear a popular bike path.
In placing this artifact of the Aftermath of the Leelanau storm in juxtaposition with the Aftermath of Detroit's own slow economic and cultural storm, I hope to set up visual and conceptual tensions at various levels, aesthetic, philosophical, cultural, and ethical, among other possibilities.
I hope this set of images will stimulate and provoke reflection on Disaster and Aftermath, our responses to these, and humanity's place in Nature.

My daily drive takes me right through the destruction of the April tornadoes here in Limestone County. As many times as I have seen it now the fury of it all still overwhelms me.

The scene at SFO 3 days after the crash of Asiana Airlines Flight 214. Though one runway remains closed during the ongoing investigation, the others are now open with planes having to land and take off right by the wreckage.

I love the way this turned out, the bleached out pale colours are perfect for creating a bleak atmosphere. The transformation of the igloos into these habitats is pretty cool too (well, I think so). If you're reading this Marc, I tried to employ the dodge and burn tools here, still have some work to do, but it definitely helped me get the lighting of the habitats to match the model's shadow - thanks!
This was a cover I did for an album that remains unreleased.
Background and smoke are all photographic elements, the figure is entirely airbrushed.
.. of storm Isha. There were a few trees and large branches down in the neighbourhood. This was the biggest. It blocked the entrance to the Birch Hotel in Selsdon, adding to the woes of the owners who had already gone bankrupt trying to turn the former Selsdon Park Hotel into a luxury spa and wellness centre. They spent 15 million pounds redeveloping it but could not attract enough regular fee-paying customers. It closed after a few short months, but not before the local Councillors had been given a slap-up meal there after inking the development deal.. it's not clear who payed for that meal - the hotel or the council (and hence us)..
The looks on the faces told me I should not approach closer to get a better shot!
N.B. and now another storm approaches the UK - storm Jocelyn, with further severe weather warning issued for the whole of the country apart from us in the far south.

Antton Zorione just happened to be in the wrong place at the right time. Antton was herding his flock of sheep when Mount St. Helens erupted in 1980. A significant pile of debris landed on Antton and his sheep. The dog got away.
The above story is hog wash. The rocks landed on the sheep and the dog. Antton was in town having lunch at Woolgrowers and just thought he had misplaced his flock. The house wine tends to do that!

I FINALLY GOT MY COMPUTER BACK!!! It became completely broken so I had to send it to HP support center. They just sent it back to me today. I love HP they are by far the best computer company I've been assisted with. HP computers ROCK!
Did you guys miss me? Cause I missed you.
Ahh sorry I feel like its been gone forever, and now its all happy and fresh... but thankfully not totally fresh because I GLADLY still have all my files and documents intact YAY!! I'm very happy it almost feels like a belated birthday present from myself (my birthday was on May 25th, the big 21)
It was kinda nice not to be stuck on the computer though cause I got to catch up on my reading. I just finished 3 books (At least 300-600 pages each) in 1 week, thats like a new record for me.
I've been obsessive over this series called the Circle Trilogy by Nora Roberts and I must say there are some HOT HOT scenes in it... if you like romance, fantasy, adventure and action then you'll love this series, oh yeah and there are vampires too!
Ohh yeah ABOUT THIS PICTURE...
Basically for those who have read my story might know whats going on, this is just a fun little picture of Zach and Erlina (god I'm loving this couple, and I'm falling in love with Zach more and more) I made of like last year and didn't decide to post it till now. Zach is totally amazing, haha I guess you can say I'm bias since I'm writing what he says and does but you know characters do have their ways... hes just so sexy and sweet at the same time, like the things he does for Erlina just makes me want to melt. You'll understand me when you read Part 6. I'm thinking it comes out next month ^_^ Hopefully if time is on my side.

Crushed 3-Series on my street after a crazy storm yesterday evening. Some people are saying that a tornado possibly struck the ground at one point as well -

My neighborhood looked like a warzone last night and this morning, thankfully most of the damage is cleared up by now. I couldn't believe the amount of cars crushed by trees.

the mess left behind up at the top of my street after the hurricane.
My girlfriend's place is Dee's Place on the right. That large brown lump in front of it is her SUV under a hunk of roof that blew off the grey building up on the boardwalk behind them.
You can see the power lines on the other side of the street.
A real mess for sure, but the most important thing is that nobody got hurt.
Another shot looking back down my street from the top of the boardwalk.
All I can say is after over 4 days with no electric.....which is DIFFERENT than having no electric back home, where I'm better equipped to deal with it......was no picnic, but having my wonderful friends and neighbors here, made what could have frankly been a real pain in the ass, just a minor inconvenience.
I am blessed!
