Bei unserem heutigen Ausflug hat Josy sich selbst übertroffen.
Eigentlich mag sie Wasser nur zum saufen und an den Pfoten.
Heute sind wir an der Inde vorbei gewandert und sie entdeckte vom Ufer aus ein Entenpaar. Ganz entgegen ihrer Gewohnheit lief sie ins Wasser und als die Enten daraufhin wegflogen, stürtze sie sich in den Bach, der immer noch einen hohen Wasserstand hatte. Als sie bemerkte, dass sie von der Strömumg weggetragen wurde, ist sie ans andere Ufer geschwommen.
Den Weg zu mir zurück hat sie nur noch über Land gemacht.

Close-up of the Ocean Adventurer. My cabin was on the upper deck of the blue part, for 3 people, quite comfortable. Lots of equipment on the ship, and lots of crew members, almost one crew member per passenger.
This shot captures comet C/2024 G3 Atlas on the only night I had decent conditions—no clouds, no moon… just cyclonic winds.
Originally, I set up close to the ocean in Guilderton, but with the sea spray threatening my gear, I relocated to this spot—still with a clear horizon but a much safer setup.
The sky is a stack of 29 x 30s exposures, while the foreground is a single shot. A challenge to capture, but absolutely worth it!

It's nice to have a photo of Critter and I together in the canoe. Living alone it is difficult to get photos of me and my fur kids, other than selfies. So I asked a friend to take a few of my boy and I together.

I think it's time Critter and I took the canoe out of the dam and ventured into one of our local rivers.
Capturing this image was no walk in the park! Cape Leeuwin, famously the most south-westerly mainland point of Australia, is where the Southern Ocean and Indian Ocean are said to meet. With no landmass to the south, the fierce southern winds batter this area relentlessly—this night was no exception, with gusts hitting around 70 km/h. Even the sturdiest rig would struggle, and the foreground caught a touch of motion blur from the chaos...especially the grass.
Adding to the challenge, the lighthouse is surrounded by fencing far from the structure, and it closes at 5 PM, leaving no chance to get closer after hours. It is lso left unattended, so, my plan to snag permission for a post-5 PM shoot was dashed.
I hunkered down behind some rocks for a bit of relief from the wind and lucked upon some wildflowers in the foreground. The lighthouse may look tiny from this distance and angle, but I promise—it’s there! 😉
The final image is a 4x6 vertical panorama, and while it wasn’t easy, the effort was worth it to capture this wild and beautiful spot.

The Alces Adventurer is an all-terrain camping tool for the fisherman of the future.
Uploading a few small models this week which have been sitting around waiting to be photographed. I need more shelf space for SHIPs!
It had long been a dream of mine to see daylight trains on the former NYC line from Bay City to Gaylord, Michigan. Finally, that opportunity arose, as Lake State Railway ran an OCS train from Wixom to Gaylord in a single day. It was a marathon day for both me and the crew as it was a full 12 hours to cover all the mileage.
Not only was it a great day to chase a train on this line, it was made even more special by the fact that a good friend was the engineer and another good friend was a car host for those aboard.
With still an hour to travel, the OCS rounds a curve south of Grayling, deep in the Central Michigan wilderness. Thanks Dr. Loco for all the waves and horn salutes!
The listed gasometer in Berlin-Schöneberg can be climbed as part of a guided tour. The adventurous climb is rewarded with a view over the entire city.
Adventurers, the brave and the curious can climb the 78-metre-high listed gasometer in Berlin-Schöneberg on a guided tour - stories about the district's landmark included. But be careful: the climb is strenuous and not for people with a fear of heights. From the ground, participants climb a total of 420 metal steps between steel struts that are over a hundred years old to the top ring of the industrial monument. From there, the view extends over the entire Berlin city area and beyond.

The Snostskali River meanders through the Sno Valley, adding a dynamic element to the picture. In autumn, the river is filled with meltwater from the mountains, creating a powerful and lively scene. Johnny Thunder is back! After the disappearance of the Re-Gou Ruby strange things have been happening in the desert lands of Egypt, unexplainable disappearances and odd sightings in the outskirts of Cairo and the Valley of the Kings. The dead have been seen wandering, and some even claim to have seen a dark figure with golden jewelry and the head of a jackal. Johnny Thunder and his team of Adventurers have returned to Egypt to investigate the situation, and search for a relic believed to have been lost for thousands of years, the staff of the protector of tombs, Anubis. And as you know, wherever Johnny is, trouble always follows..
Hey everyone! I’ve finally got a new MOC to show you, and finally I’ve been able to build something from one of my favourite original LEGO themes, Adventurers. I’ve always liked the Egypt-/Desert-line even though I only ever owned Orient Expedition sets, so I thought it would be fun to revisit Egypt. I’m gonna be trying to continue the story I’ve started with this MOC with more parts coming later this year, featuring lots of classic vehicles and cool desert locations. After about a year with close to no motivation for building, I’m very excited that I feel a strong interest to build again. As always I’d appreciate any feedback on my MOC. Hope you like it!
