This was our cruise ship, about 110 passengers and 100 crew members. On that day we had gone out on the Zodiacs to see penguins in one of the islands. Suddenly, the guides panicked because ice started to come in and if we didn't get back to the ship quickly the Zodiacs would not be able to make it through the ice. The weather is very unpredictable, but the guides are on top of it.

Approaching existence

“Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!”

I know Hay Bridge is not very adventurous for this well trodden location. But at 19°, coming off the slack at Sterns gave the highest percentage chance for any exhaust. Featured locomotive Hawksworth Pannier Tank Engine 1501

Stain glass window in the Merchant Adventurers’ Hall, York. It is one of the finest medieval guild halls in the World. Well worth a visit. For more info. visit www.merchantshallyork.org/ iPhone 8 Plus, handheld.

Close-up of the Ocean Adventurer. My cabin was on the upper deck of the blue part, for 3 people, quite comfortable. Lots of equipment on the ship, and lots of crew members, almost one crew member per passenger.

It has long been rumored that there is a lost goldmine somewhere in the Superstition Mountains where we hiked last weekend. Jasper is always up for adventure, hoping one day we might trip upon the goldmine entrance, finding riches to buy toys and treats beyond his wildest dreams. A dog can dream

Around 1785, the adventurer Don Tomás Lucero found gold near La Carolina; this was the first recorded sighting of the area as a town. It named it La Carolina in honor of Charles III of Spain.

In 2023, it was recognized by the World Tourism Organization with the Best Tourism Villages award.

I thought I might as well make it a hat trick of pictures of The Ocean Adventure. For some reason I keep adding the letter 'r' to the end of Adventure. I think Adventurer is a much nicer word for this boat...

And, that's the name of the adventure on this ship...

Have a fabulous day, everyone...

It's nice to have a photo of Critter and I together in the canoe. Living alone it is difficult to get photos of me and my fur kids, other than selfies. So I asked a friend to take a few of my boy and I together.

*Thank you Dorothy for the pic ;)

I think it's time Critter and I took the canoe out of the dam and ventured into one of our local rivers.

It had long been a dream of mine to see daylight trains on the former NYC line from Bay City to Gaylord, Michigan. Finally, that opportunity arose, as Lake State Railway ran an OCS train from Wixom to Gaylord in a single day. It was a marathon day for both me and the crew as it was a full 12 hours to cover all the mileage.

Not only was it a great day to chase a train on this line, it was made even more special by the fact that a good friend was the engineer and another good friend was a car host for those aboard.

With still an hour to travel, the OCS rounds a curve south of Grayling, deep in the Central Michigan wilderness. Thanks Dr. Loco for all the waves and horn salutes!

Johnny Thunder is back! After the disappearance of the Re-Gou Ruby strange things have been happening in the desert lands of Egypt, unexplainable disappearances and odd sightings in the outskirts of Cairo and the Valley of the Kings. The dead have been seen wandering, and some even claim to have seen a dark figure with golden jewelry and the head of a jackal. Johnny Thunder and his team of Adventurers have returned to Egypt to investigate the situation, and search for a relic believed to have been lost for thousands of years, the staff of the protector of tombs, Anubis. And as you know, wherever Johnny is, trouble always follows..

Hey everyone! I’ve finally got a new MOC to show you, and finally I’ve been able to build something from one of my favourite original LEGO themes, Adventurers. I’ve always liked the Egypt-/Desert-line even though I only ever owned Orient Expedition sets, so I thought it would be fun to revisit Egypt. I’m gonna be trying to continue the story I’ve started with this MOC with more parts coming later this year, featuring lots of classic vehicles and cool desert locations. After about a year with close to no motivation for building, I’m very excited that I feel a strong interest to build again. As always I’d appreciate any feedback on my MOC. Hope you like it!

The Adventurers are back! The original team this time accompanied by Johnny’s friend Mike are back in Egypt for the search of the Staff of Anubis!

This figure line-up is a redux of the original Adventurers line from 1998 + Mike (Dino Island) and Anubis (Pharaoh’s Quest). All of these were mostly designed in 2019-2020 so I’m happy to finally having been able to put them together, and now also to reveal them. Considering this theme is my all-time favourite original LEGO theme, I just had to make modernized versions of them, and I’m super pleased with how they look.

I’m hoping to feature these figures in at least another 3-4 builds the next few years. Thanks to all of those who have inspired me to get back into the rhythm of things with LEGO and also inspired me to build from this great theme. Stay tuned for the MOC reveal tomorrow!
