Redcastle Advanced Ammunition Park
WWII Ammunition store in the forest near Redcastle Castle. According to A Steep Turn To The Stars this was part of No.77 Maintenance Unit with official capacity 5 Kilo-Tons. This consisted of bombs and depth charges and was brought by rail to Redcastle Railway Station.
This structure is at NH 59320 49109
It is 8000 mm x 1950 mm
IN the concrete around the doorway at the Southern end there is in the concrete the numbers "22", "18" and "23"
There are some curves of corrugated iron, Nissen hut style, nearby around NH 59307. These are 3000 mm wide at the base and 1950 mm high.
It is reported that there are many more remains in the forest.
