"Cardiovascular risk factors extend beyond cholesterol, and include small proteins and lipoprotein subtypes. Cardiovascular risk is better assessed by identifying measurable lipid risk factors. Advanced lipid testing therefore, plays a crucial role in clinical practice.
The kinds of lipids and their function, risk factors associated with abnormal levels of lipid and the role of advanced lipid testing in clinical assessment are discussed in detail in this presentation.This is an interactive multimedia presentation with 3D & 2D animations, still images, illustrations with corresponding text and audio providing a unique enriching experience. The National STEM Guitar Project, in partnership with NSF Advanced Technological Education (ATE) Centers with funding provided through a grant from The National Science Foundation (#1304405), hosts innovative Guitar Building Institutes around the United States. The 5-day institutes, combined with additional instructional activities comprising 80 hours, provide faculty training on science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) for middle, high school, and post-secondary faculty. The institutes present and teach participants hands-on, applied learning techniques to help engage students and spark excitement for learning STEM subject matter.
Nationwide, there are increasing concerns from businesses about the supply of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics trained workers. Science and math test scores in the U.S. are among the lowest around the world.
The goal and objective of the STEM Guitar Building Institutes is to showcase a new way to present learning for students with applied methods.
ZAHS advanced band performs at Grandberry Mall
Zama American High School’s advanced band played for the first time in a local foreign national concert venue May 22 at Grandberry Mall.
Kevin Hanson, Zama American School band teacher, said he has been here nine years and they have been unable to find a venue off-base.
“For this performance opportunity, we had to send a video of the band to be asked/accepted to play,” said Hanson.
The symphonic band of 41 students played a variety of music to include some Disney movie themed music, Batman’s theme song and the Mission Impossible movie theme song.
Hanson said the mall manager was watching the crowd and everyone seemed to enjoy it.
“We were invited to come back anytime,” said Hanson.
