I imagine that these kinds of press chases were once commonplace, but this example is the only one I have ever seen. This is the type of apparatus that Kurt Volk (see previous posts) must have used to create the circular patterns with type in his ABC Gem Box publications. One of the inner pieces was missing, so I made one with wood to take its place. There are no makers marks on any piece, and I would be grateful to anyone who might have any information as to who made it, and where it was made.
