This is the a photograph from the start of the Fore Village 5KM and 10KM road races and fun runs which were held in the beautiful village and area of Fore, Castlepollard, Co. Westmeath, Ireland on Wednesday 15th June 2016 at 19:30 and 19:45 respectively. This is the second year where there has been a 10KM race which is an addition to the annual 5KM race. Both races start close to the beautiful Fore Abbey and both races finish at the visitor car park area in front of the Abbey. The race was organised by Fore Motorcycle Racing Club Ltd and Ballycomoyle GAA club. Both clubs are from the surrounding areas and supplied stewards and other help on the night.

I ran in the race - but my photograph doesn't appear here in your Flickr set! What gives?
As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!
You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. As alternatives we advise you to contact the race organisers to enquire if there were (1) other photographs taking photographs at the race event or if (2) there were professional commercial sports photographers taking photographs which might have some photographs of you available for purchase. I believe when this plat was put together then named the streets after the owners of the adjoining property. The Seymour family owned about 15 acres on the northeast corner of Burton and Eastern, I think Seymour Square was named after that family. Seymour St. later became Blaine for an unkown reason. I think Chesbro became Alto. I am not sure about the others, I think Evarts is Elliot and Workman is Griggs.

The front of the house is oriented to the left hand side of the photo. The area with cross-hatching will be remodeled -- the game plan is to open the space to create a larger kitchen and small family room/sitting area. The areas with diagonal shading will be the additions. At the bottom of the picture is planned an addition which will be used as a library. And on the right hand side of the picture, which is the back of the house, a third bedroom with master suite will be added

This David Dryden designed school was named for Dr. William Smedley, a member and early school board president. The school was constructed in 1902 with additions added in 1911, 1952 and 1955. The two story, red brick school is Neoclassical is design.

The kids have figured out something enjoyable to do with the dirt piles. Don't worry grandparents! It may look dangerous with the huge hole behind, but this is actually two piles right next to eachother and there was no chance that they could fall in! :o) Better watch out for those two lumps of concrete though!
In addition to underwater vegetation, Coots eat grasses. As the ice restricted access to open water, the Coots came to shore more often to pick at the grasses as this one was doing. This was also the best close shot I got of those amazing feet.

The addition of some shredded paper, bunny waste, and alfalfa pellets to the compost pile, should have the pile heating up in no time. Only hours later, when being stared at by a dumbfounded rabbit, did I remember that I had failed to provide the boy with fresh litter boxes. The boy was not amused!
In addition to the show we will be offering two limited edition t-shirts featuring Coop’s artwork. The first shirt available in both white and black is pictured above and features one of Coop’s classic Devil’s having the Boryoku Genjin sign his soul away for fame and fortune! The second shirt is available in only black and features the dissected Boryoku Genjin featured on the show flier in glow-in-the-dark ink. In addition to its completely eye-watering power during an airshow routine, it's important to forget that so much of what makes the Raptor a deadly player on today's increasingly integrated battlefield isn't necessarily a result of what it can do in terms of maneuverability and/or directing firepower toward an enemy platform.
With the ability to provide other players on today's electronic battlefield a vast array of information about targets and enemy capabilities, the F-22's ability to receive and distribute tactical information allows commanders to effectively prioritize existing and emerging threats in any environment. While the F-22 may not necessarily be the platform of choice being used to engage a target, the information the F-22 gathers can be used to make the call on whether a flight of A-10s should be used, or may be a section of Marine Hornets. Whatever the case may be, one of the F-22s most under-rated (and mentioned) assets is the aircraft's ability to effectively as as a force-multiplier simply based on gathering and sending information electronically to powers that be.
A modest, attractive addition by ABK, either borrowing from Stirling or working in parallel. Note the faceted, partially diagonal surface, and the tasteful burying of some of the program (while still giving it spatial qualities by the addition of skylights, light courts, and a snakelike plan. Iqbal's ABK set lets you see more of it, including the street-side elevations (far less successful in my view) and some vintage views.
Our student for this one had it dated as 1969-1974, which seems plausible, but publication dates would seem to suggest design circa 1973/74 and completion circa 1977 or perhaps 1980. Maybe there were multiple phases involved.
My newest addition... Trying my hand at amphibians yet again! Pictured is a male. This species is from New Guinea and Australia. They were Steve Irwin's favorite frog species- i can see why. They also have cute calls!

The Day After (1894)
Artist: Edvard Munch
Edvard Munch worked as an artist for over sixty years. He was creative, ambitious and hardworking. He produced nearly two thousand paintings, hundreds of graphic motifs and thousands of drawings. In addition, he wrote poems, prose and diaries. The Scream, Madonna, Death in the Sickroom and the other symbolist works from the 1890s have made him one of the most famous artists of our time.
Edvard wanted to become an artist early on, and there was no doubt that he had talent. But his father refused to allow him to follow his dream, so Edvard began studying engineering. But already after one year he chose to defy his father, and switched from engineering college to the Norwegian National Academy of Craft and Art Industry in Kristiania, now Oslo.
It was obvious to everyone in the Norwegian art community that the young man showed rare talent. In 1883, at the age of 20, he debuted at Høstutstillingen (The Autumn Exhibition). In 1886, Munch became acquainted with author and anarchist Hans Jæger, a leading figure in the Kristiania bohemian community. The bohemian community convinced Munch that the arts had to renew themselves to reach people and to have relevance in their lives. In the same year he exhibited the painting The Sick Child. This generated debate!
Some acclaimed The Sick Child a work of genius, while others deemed it unfinished and unworthy of exhibition. Today it is considered to mark Munch's breakthrough. It was here that demonstrated the independence and willingness to break fresh ground.
From this point until his final brush strokes, his artistic practice can be summed up in just word: experimentation. Munch did not care about established "rules" for so-called good art. His techniques in both painting and graphics were innovative.
Henrik Ibsen's plays about humanity's existential challenges inspired Munch. Themes such as death, love, sexuality, jealousy and anxiety were central to his early images. Some themes sprang from personal experience. For example, Death in the Sickroom and The Sick Child are linked to his memory of his mother and sister's illnesses and early deaths.
After 1910, Munch chose a quieter and secluded life. At his own farms at Ekely in Oslo and in Hvitsten, he found entirely new motifs, such as agriculture, working life and landscapes. Man in the Cabbage Field is a typical example from this period.

On 11 June 2022 the new National Museum opened in Oslo. This is the largest museum in the Nordics. The new museum now consists of the collections of the former National Gallery, the Museum of Contemporary Art, and the Norwegian Museum of Decorative Arts and Design.
The new museum has a permanent exhibition of about 6 500 objects. Design, arts and crafts, fine art as well as contemporary art will be exhibited alongside each other. As such, the permanent exhibition highlights interesting connections between different collections that previously have been on show at three different museums. Additionally, audiences will be able to see the most famous paintings by the Norwegian painter Edvard Munch, including The Scream (1893) and Madonna (1894).
The building was designed by Kleihues + Schuwerk Gesellschaft von Architekten, with emphasis on dignity and longevity over sensationalist architecture. Great care was given to achieve a balance with the museum’s surroundings and the existing monuments in the area, such as Oslo City Hall and Akershus Fortress.
The most eye-catching feature of the new museum is the large, illuminated exhibition hall on top of the building. It will be used for temporary exhibitions.
The rooftop terrace offers a unique view of the inner Oslo fjord. The square in front of the main entrance has become an urban meeting place, with benches and a café that invites you in to take a rest.

This is a photograph made with a 1940's 4 x 5 camera joined to a flat bed scanner. The scanner photograph offers an image, which, in addition to being inherently three dimensional, reveals the fourth dimension in a unique way. Each ‘exposure’ occurs over a number of minutes, or as little as one minute. The opposite ends of the image are captured at entirely different moments in time, not all at once as in a ‘typical’ photograph. The image has not been 'photoshopped' except to adjust tonal value. here is my new truck hooked to both my cattle trailers ,my triaxle and my tandem polished aluminum ....very long indeed
The white facia trim has been finished on both the house and the outbuilding, and new cedar shingles (actually, 8 ft. long panels) have been installed on the kitchen addition. It will take awhile for the new shingles to match the shingles on the rest of the house. The shingles on the upper level will eventually be replaced by metal siding ("galvalum").
