So I've been gone a long time now and it's all thanks to my decision of getting a new console last year :P

Aaaaand Witcher 3 just had to go on discount and take up 80% of my free time, so blame their stupidly freaking UH-mazing open world for dragging me away from building.

...

....okay fine it's my own fault, and I'm still taking my own sweet time with the game.

Anyhow, I'm back and I've got a couple of new builds coming up this week! Namely a couple of game-related builds and another mech :D

PS. If anybody plays the PS4 here as well, I'll be glad to add a new friend! My PSN ID's franks127.

They say you end up chasing your first time. Which, of course, you can never catch. Because life and fate and whatever forces conspired to put us here on Earth compel us to keep moving forward, and that first time can only keep retreating farther and farther behind us.

And yet. That same dumb, unfightable, unending sleepwalk into the future is made more bearable – desireable, even – by its psychological twin. Hope. Which springs from uncertainty and lets us believe that… hey, you just never know what’ll happen.

On one level that’s true. We cannot foresee the future in detail.

And sometimes that allows us to ignore the fact that we can make general assumptions about it… based on our experience.

If your first time is A1, and the second A2, and so on… and you get to A77,001… and each experience is somewhat less enjoyable than the first… logic dictates that, in all probability, A77,002 will be less enjoyable still.

And yet. Some part of us wants to believe that the universe is entirely random; that anything can happen at any time for any (or no) particular reason; and therefore, it is possible that, at some point, the diminishing-enjoyment trend will turn on its head.

And so we keep hope alive.

Phone addiction is the obsessive use of a smartphone. The behavioral addiction is often dubbed as “nomophobia,” or the fear of being without a mobile device. 67% of smartphone owners have admitted to checking their phone for calls or messages when their phone didn’t vibrate or ring.1 This is one major sign of cell phone dependence and should serve as a warning to cell phone owners.

Withdrawal, when cell phone or network is unreachable.

Anger.

Tension.

Depression.

Irritability.

Restlessness.

There are over 3.8 billion smartphone users in the world as of December 2021.

OK. I admit it. I am a chocolate addict. And I am a chocolate snob. I can't stand most American or Japanese so-called chocolates. There are few luxuries finer than few bites from a Lindt Milk Chocolate bar. I was happy to get the last one this night.

revisited some of my addictive spots while recording a new video to further endorse my addiction ...

An adult male Kea named Jeff investigating the new visitors to its home high up in Fiordland National Park, alongside the Milford Rd.

Kea are innately curious and full of personality making them rather attracted to human activity. Sometimes just to watch and be a part of whatever's going on, but notoriously to rip apart rubber components on the exterior of cars just for amusement. This individual took a particular liking to the cables exiting the solar panel on the roof of our campervan.

As the world's only alpine parrot, these incredible birds are omnivorous, eating mostly berries, roots, leaves, insects, and nectar but also taking to carrion when available. Feeding wild Kea is strongly discouraged by the Department of Conservation as it can affect the Kea's eating behaviour. Some individuals are believed to have developed a taste/addiction to the preservatives in a lot of the food we eat and have starved themselves to death without a natural source for these in their typical diet.

Historically, farmers have been known to kill approximately 150,000 Kea due to concerns over them killing their sheep but full protection was granted to them in 1986 which makes any such activity illegal. Recent population estimates range between 1,000-15,000 but are hard to gauge due to a number of reasons including their extensive range, rugged terrain, low kea density, cryptic behaviour of adults, and flocking behaviour of juveniles.
