Addiction

Rain comes back. Cold comes back. The knees ache comes back. Painkillers come back.

Addiction , Addiction 1 and Addiction 2

So, what about photography that is so addictive, what has turned a hobby into an addiction? I know it lets your creative juices to flow...lol.... there may be more than one thing, but for me the most important is the feeling of love and amity with other photographers. They are like shining stars in my sky :)

My nine shot James trek is a wrap and I am deciding upon a new series but in the meantime, I had to throw this weird shot up of a trash cam. Once in a while, I do commentary. This is commentary. I walked down the alley on my way over to Phil's street to deliver some of my marinara sauce. Shocked, I was shocked... I tell you. I had to hustle back over to my place for my camera. Smoking and vaping is so very glamorous. We tried to tell the fellow that if he kept it up, he'd also contract Epstein-Barr syndrome which is clearly fatal whenever contracted. The current round of folks vaping can't even compare. Oh well, some of us are Darwinists and approve of any method folks use to commit suicide.

After we removed the oxygen tanks from his room, we found this load of butts without ifs or ands. Thie is only what got cleaned up from the guy's ash tray on the bed side night stand but you should really see what was in the bedside waste basket and we vacuumed from Dearly Departed's lungs. We vacuumed his car later for a load more. It's amazing that he never got a leak from the oxygen tanks while smoking and blew up the entire house. No wonder why this guy tipped over. At least it was good to the very last puff. We had to fight our way into his room using gas masks. This pictured load doesn't even include any of the cartons he had stashed in his closets. Those went to the highest bidder on Craig's List. Boy, those sales receipts didn't come close to our cleanup expenses.

We have to go back in, clean the rugs, walls and ceilings then let the place air out. We already bought 5 gallons buckets of paint down at Home Despot. We'll have to wear our breathing apparatus and hazmat suits even to paint the place and get it onto the market for sale if we can air it out enough to enter the place without masks.

okay I have considered long time if i shall upload this....and you see i decided to share this hehe!

I DONT take drugs but this was an idea which was spinning around long time in my head so here it is.

i wanted to create a kind of paparazzi photo with a "shit catched" face :D

Hi, I'm Greg and I'm a Flickr Addict...

You know it's true when you shoot a pict on the first flight and upload it using a wireless connection while waiting for the connecting flight ;D!

Sunrise over San Francisco Bay. Shot on an Oakland-Denver flight a few hours ago and uploaded from the Denver Airport while waiting for the Philly flight...

Is it possible to eat just a few? I think not! This was taken with a screw on spot filter. I haven't really found a proper use for it but experimenting is good!

Well this is the first of a few in a series I’ll be putting up here on flickr called “addiction”. This photo represents on of my biggest addition and that’s coffee!

For all of these shots I used a homemade lightbox. Yeah that’s right I was to cheap to buy one from my local camera shop . Making it was really easy. I used a small cardboard box about 9 inches/22.5 cm. 4 sheets of white paper and light source. 3 faces of the box was cut leaving a square hole in each side ( 8 inches/20 cm). The two faces on the side of the box was lined with white paper (from the inside). The back and botton of the box was also lined with white paper (be sure not to crease the paper or you will see it in your shots). The top of the box was also completely cut off. Next was to add the light source (Fluorescent) and that’s it, you have a lightbox!

I want to thank Natron79 for letting me use his nice 50mm Sigma Macro lens to take these shots! Anyhow hope you enjoy them and again have a great weekend everyone!

Canon AE-1 Program - Lomography Color Negative 400ISO

The thing about addiction is, it never ends well. Because eventually, whatever it is that was getting us high, stops feeling good, and starts to hurt. Still, they say you don't kick the habit until you hit rock bottom. But how do you know when you are there? Because no matter how badly a thing is hurting us, sometimes, letting it go hurts even worse.

I use computer mostly for post processing (of course, there are other reasons for computer addiction ;)... so, this picture has been processed to death in the hope of creating a feeling of addiction.

Addiction (Vintage lens manual focus)

This was embarrassing! We were walking down Van Buren in Corvallis and found a recycling bin full of wine bottles. Vee and I decided to take some shots with them while posing on the very busy curb as cars drove by and stared. Hah.

Addiction: Self Mutilation

Model: Meredith Thomas

About The Addiction:

About Two million people in the United States alone resort to Self Mutilation. In teenagers and even adults, the problem gets worse and worse by the days. This is something that is uncensored in reality, and this is the causes and what actual people can go through. A problem is an Addiction, something that we all have but may not notice.

Addiction: Love

Model: Hunter Brady

About the Addiction:

Love is a different kind of Addiction, it can be taken in plenty of different ways. One of the most common ones is wanting someone you can not have, and not having so taking drastic measures, obsessing over the person, they are all you can think about. As there may not be any statistics or cures to this, other than finding someone for you. The result of searching for love, feelings that it's all you live for can result into lowering your standards and also making it noticeable that you are available and wanting love. Addiction to Love is probably the most common Addiction, and the longer it lasts, the worse the condition.
