I had to wrap some duct tape around the transportation roll. This was a bit too thick and caused some light leaks.
Finally off the bucket list, I have now seen one. To decrease the cost of transferring freight from standard to narrow gauge cars, the EBT employed a timber transfer crane to lift standard gauge cars and roll narrow gauge transfer trucks to run on the narrow gauge trackage. To get around the coupler mismatch, EBT developed these cast aluminum adapters to allow the standard gauge and narrow gauge couplers to work together. It is seen here on the coupler of a standard gauge X29 PRR boxcar still on it's standard gauge trucks, one day I will see the coupler in operation
An idea I had that has lots of creative potential. Sure this can be done with an open ball already but I want a part that has only one plane of motion.

just thought of a way to use my EOS to NEX speedbooster on my Summilux-R 35mm. so the setup is lens + Leica R to EOS adapter + EOS to NEX speedbooster.
the result is that at F/1.4 there are dark corners. I have to step down to F/4 to remove the dark corners. But with this setup, theoretically I have a 35mm F/1.0 Lens. And surprisingly when aperture full open, there is no purple fringing!

Auffällig ist, dass unscharfe Bereiche sehr anfällig gegen Sensorflecken sind. Sie dringen richtig nach vorn, weil sie Symmetrie zerstören.

I think I should remove the axle connection and make it only compatible with the 2001-2003 masks, I'd save some space.
Also, the adapter tends to fall too easily from the head. Which makes the mask ejection gimmick quite efficient, though. :p
As you can see, I'll have to remove the gap between the front and the attachment, it's a very small gap, but I don't like it.
The sides are a bit too thin.

With no new 126 format film, 126 format shooters have been relying on using the Fakmatic 35mm to 126 adapter in order to shoot with their 126 cameras. With this 3D printed adapter, you load a roll of standard 35mm film (in a film changing bag), drop the loaded adapter into your Instamatic and shoot. While 35mm film loaded into a Fakmatic adapter works for some cameras (like the Kodak X-15), the sprockets on 35mm film do not allow all 126 cameras to be used (35mm film jams in certain camera models).
Film Photography Project (FPP) guys Owen McCafferty and Michael Raso have been working on a solution, designing a system to perf (unperforated) 35mm film with the proper 126 perforations. In theory, this film will be usable in all 126 cameras including the Rollei SL26, Kodak Instamatic 100 series, Keystone and all cameras that jammed up when using traditional 35mm film.
The FPP hopes to make this film available (soon) in single, bulk rolls in BW and color. This film does still require the photographer to load the film themselves in the FAK adapter or vintage cassette.
While this may be disappointing news to some who were expecting new, factory-finished 126 film, it is bright news for 126 enthusiasts who have been unable to use modern 35mm film in their 126 cameras.
To date, no modern film factory is known to have the capability of manufacturing new, packaged 126 film. The production machines have either been long discarded or the machines are not currently on their modern production line.

Placing ESA's Biomass satelite onto its launch adapter at Europe Spaceport's integration facility. The adapter connects the satellite to the Vega-C rocket that will launch it on 29 April 2025 on flight VV26.
Once in orbit, Biomass will deliver novel information about the state of our forests, how they are changing over time, and advance our knowledge of the carbon cycle. It is the first satellite to carry a fully polarimetric P-band synthetic aperture radar for interferometric imaging. Thanks to the long wavelength of P-band, around 70 cm, the radar signal can slice through the whole forest layer to measure the ‘biomass’, meaning the woody trunks, branches and stems, which is where trees store most of their carbon.

I have a few spots I come back to around Birmingham. Today I was trying out the GW3 adapter on my RX1 to see if the two could be all I'd need on an upcoming trip. The adapter works pretty well when stopped down and converts the 35mm lens to about 26mm.
