A Carl Zeiss Jena lens on a Pentax K-3 II
Just made a little article about adapting old lenses on K-mount at q.ennev.com/adapters.
I would appreciate your comments.

....I just got into our woods and the rain & wind showed up. I didn't care for the color version of this image. So black & white it is.

I finally splashed out on an Mp3 player, and I am pleased with my purchase.
It has been a few years since I noticed the arrival of MP3 players made by then unkowns such as Rio and iRiver. Music players with flash memory and no moving parts had been predicted since as long as I can remember, so they came as no surprise, but at first I could not see the point.
The memory was small, it was irreplacable, and I did not know how to get MP3 files.
The player above comes with software for converting CD music to Mp3 and has 1GB of memory which is enough for 200 songs or about 12 hours of music.
It also has a voice recorder which I hope to use for recording English speakers for use as teaching materials. The reason why I purchased this particular player, at auction for about $150 USD, is because these older iRiver players accept an external microphone, which is pretty essential for recording dialogues.
The reason why I am recommending it here is because this player, weighing only 60gms including battery, with no moving parts, and an armband, can be worn while jogging.
My play list includes
Messengers, "That's the Way a Woman is"
Tracy Chapman, "Fast Car"
The Cure, "Close to Me"
Elvis, "His Latest Flame"
and
The Zombies, "Time of the Season"
The effect, the buzz, the improvement in jogging speed is phenominal. it is almost frightening. Now I know why Lance Amstrong has an Mp3 player built into his sunglasses.
This image was taken by me but is of a device copyright of iRiver. I hope they forgive my posting it here.
So happy he is back !!
5 years that I havent seen one at the lake near my home, I had to go far away to see some of them. But saddly the weather is bad again so I had to do photos in medium weather conditions (sun low over the horizon, a lot of clouds ...)

I am passionate about Astrophotography and the Aurora is one of the most incredible things you can often see. The Sun runs on around 11 year cycles and we are starting to come out of a quiet period where we start to see more Coronal Mass Ejections (CME's) which, given appropriate conditions, sun/earth orientation, and timings can lead to some incredible Aurora. I missed out on the 'big' aurora on the morning of the 24th April 2023 (which was a bummer) but captured more of it on the night of the 24th April 2023.
This image is of the Aurora Australis which was visible over Eagles Nest Lookout in Inverloch, Victoria, Australia. It was photographed on 24/4/2023 9:51:32 pm with a Sony ILCE-7RM4 (A7R 4) and Tamron 15-30mm F2.8-2.8 G @ 16 mm (with a Nikon to Sony Adapter), 30.0 sec at ƒ / 2.8, ISO 6400. I edited this image in Lightroom, and then in Topaz Photo AI (for DeNoise and Sharpening).

I have my Dad's Praktica camera and lens for years now and somehow only realised I should get an adapter and use them on my fujifilm, it arrived this morning.
I have just returned from an epic trip with fellow photographers Antony Spencer & Aaron Bennett
It was amazing to experience and explore Iceland, We had mild activity most nights and an amazing 20 minute display on Tuesday. We also had pretty decent weather for sunset and sun rise. All in all a great trip and it was amazing to finally see the northern lights!
It really is a challenge photographing the Northern lights with problems like composing a shot in the dark to focus and noise issues it can get quite stressful especially when you have had no sleep for sometime and you can no longer feel your toes or feet.
I made this image with a Canon 5d ii with my Nikon 24mm ƒ1.4 G Lens with an Adapter to make it all work.
As the lens dose not communicate with the camera you can ignore the EXIF data for this shot apart from the shutter speed and ISO.

We got a ton of snow (for Arkansas)! Of course I took advantage of the snow day to get some bird photography done (and tried my hand at some video). This Carolina Wren wasn't too bothered by me at all, and gave me tons of great photos.

Portrait of a pretty female Little Whip Snake from the basalt plains above the Merri Creek at Donnybrook to the north of Melbourne.
A wonderful symphony of colour, light and bokeh rendering from the classic Pentacon lens. Image taken on a Canon EOS 5D Mark 3 DSLR coupled to a vintage German M42 Pentacon M42 30/3.5 lens with a 9mm M42 extension tube attached. A third party M42 to EOS adapter incorporated. Image shot wide-open and hand-held, with a touch of fill-flash. Apart from RAW conversion and the most basic of editing, image shot as is.
I love my Pentacon.
