In chemistry there is a term called optical activity (OA). It describes the rotation of polarized light when it is passed through solutions of certain stereoisomers. These chemicals are said to be optically active. Unfortunately this awesome term describes an extremely boring concept and zzzzzzzzzzz................
How about the action of light on this butterfly? I'd say that was some kind of awesome OA. Photographers should hijack this terminology. Would you agree that he is optically active?
