BACKSTORY: Well, that was a crazy burn! So much shit I never expected to do, at WickerMan Burn 2016!
- Damaged Carolyn's car on the way in so that it permanently squeaks, except it got better by the time weleft
- Ate a tequila worm (so much more chewing than you would imagine!) when naked-goddess-bartender poured me one, randomly. (I had to check that it wasn't something from the woods)
- Watched fireworks so dangerously close that I needed first aid for a burned eyeball (could this be why the vision in that eye went bad this year?)
- Learned to weave. On a loom. And wove some. Took video of weaving.
- worried about this spleen issue I have that is starting to feel less like a pain, and more like an actual tumor that you can distinctly feel on one side (still hurting as of 2017, CT Scan found nothing)
- controlled huge flamethrowers with laserbeams & buttons
- fun stuff on top of a 20-ft wooden ziggurat art installation (Carolyn was too scared to go up!)
- Watched a firework fireball zoom past Carolyn's head (she didn't even flinch) and catch the ground on fire 1 foot from her feet
- Made out with both members of a couple (beards can be soft?)
- Bounced in a moon bounce
- Saw Carolyn fall off a bounce-house ramp, tumbling in mid air, as onlookers screamed (one massage later, she's fine)
- Played with propane bubbles (cover hand, stick in fire, watch self burn) with zero regard for my safety or even knowing what they were ("other people aren't dying when they do this, so i'll do this, whatever this is. no, i won't ask anybody any questions about it or learn anything safety-related")
- Treated 2nd degree cooking burn with actual aloe leaves someone bundled up, just in case. Only had to walk 20 feet from my camp! No relation to previous bullet point.
- Tried [REDACTED]
- Used logical deduction to guide a damsel in distress to her campsite that she could not find, even though I had never been there. (If you want to flatter me, make me feel like Aragorn. I also accept pints of cherry tomatoes & great conversation)
- Received tons of compliments about my hair & badass cartoon shirt (and about my brain) (but I get that a lot... it's the others I'm not so used to)
- Worried about Andrea in rehab. Did all kinds of crazy things to maintain connectivity to check up on her. A lotta good that did. RIP, Andrea.
- Learned to always great one specific person with "Hi, Clint!" (Her name is not Clint. This is how she prefers greetings.)
- Wore My Little Pony boxer-briefs around strangers
- Sent video from the middle of the woods with a phone that only works when plugged in (tricky)
- Met the creator of games I've played for 15 yrs, & found out that the vintage set of game pieces my aunt found me in a thrift store are so rare that he was re-telling people about our set... Even when we weren't even there. So honored! To tell the man who invented Fluxx that you had the original Fluxx back when that was the only Fluxx you could get was awesome, too.
- But to make a reference to a specific episode of 2 Stupid Dogs to the creator of Fluxx, and have him know it and repeat it back... Wow.
- Chastised by Channy for not knowing how to spellmy own name on facebook, becuase she wanted pictoral proof of my story that did not believe -- that the deer shit that came out of the deer when my Bonneville was totalled (while driving back from Dirk's) had splattered onto my car in the shape of Pluto the Dog's face. I totally sent her that picture!
- Lost 1 of 2 cameras, resulting in our pictures being quite incomplete (gee, real Burnery of whoever found it to not bother giving it back. If I find someone else's camera, I guess this means I'll have to keep it to break even?)
- Learned I can consistently inhale an entire nitrous oxide cartridge in one lungful
- Randomly given 2 beers by someone, only to ask to see her face, and, after introductions, us all realizing we already know each other already and are FB friends already (wtf?! what are the odds?!)
Saw a truck covered in fire driving down the mountain like nothingwas going on. Overheard: "Are you seeing that? Is that real?"
Phew? Did I get everything? I don't know! One night, I never saw my camp during the night time, at all.

The photograph is a frame taken by a 16mm Maurer movie camera that had been mounted by Aldrin on the outside of the spacecraft, directly behind his hatch.

That doesn’t look like a handrail in his hand. Maybe the tether for the gravity gradient/tethered stationkeeping/artificial gravity inducing experiment?

“On the second day in orbit, Aldrin did a “standup” EVA, floating in the hatch opening and doing scientific experiments such as astronomical photography with an ultraviolet camera. It was a technique first tried on Gemini X and XI. That was easy. Day 3 had the real test. First, he attached a movie camera to the Gemini spacecraft, pulling himself hand-over-hand to the spacecraft's nose on a handrail added for the purpose. He used a short tether attached to his waist to restrain himself as he hooked a big tether between the spacecraft and the Agena. Unlike Gordon’s experience trying to wrap his legs around the Gemini’s nose to stay in place, Aldrin had no trouble. Then he moved to the back of the Gemini spacecraft to work on his “busy box” of tasks. Two “golden slippers”—yellow, overshoe-like foot restraints—stabilized his position. He experimented with one or two waist tethers, worked with bolts and washers, and used a tool to cut metal. Then he moved back to the Agena, where he worked another “busy box” with electrical connectors and experimented with a power screwdriver. He took prescribed rest periods between tasks. Buzz was back in his seat after 2 hours and 20 minutes without incident. The next day he did another standup EVA.”

Live Action Christie has always been a holy grail doll of mine which was finally realised about three years ago when a doll friend gifted me her mother’s severely broken one (as the doll friend was into American Girl dolls and not Barbie). I’ve always treasured it, and I put a lot of work into colour matching a Fashionista to match the head. I use a lot of shortcuts for later spray paint bodies but this was one of the only bodies I’ve used EVERY trick to make sure the body held up colour wise.
However I’ve always treated her with kid gloves cuz even with all the sanding, dyeing joints and general hoo hah, I couldn’t really redress her in form fitting clothes or proper shoes without risking chipping, so I was filled with both joy and utter despair at Mattel releasing another articulated doll in a super dark skin tone because it gave me a chance to have a non painted body, but also I know how quickly it gets snapped up and scalped online.
Funny enough though, the very same day I made an Amazon account to try buying Fashionista Ken dolls, Wormmommy on Instagram said the doll was restocked, and surprise, surprise, the doll ships internationally. Of course half an hour later the doll was sold out again so it was fate I guess.
I was in agony waiting for the doll to get here that when I opened up the box I immediately ripped of Music Activity’s head and fitted Christie’s head on.
I actually really love the single jointed doll bodies, and I would be content if Mattel released the Fashionistas once again with these bodies cuz it’s much better than what we currently have. This body’s upper body I absolutely adore sculpt wise and find it far superior to the 2010 Fashionista bodies, however the hips are garbage and can’t sit up at 90 degrees. But hey, I can always fudge that.
Accessories wise, I like everything cuz it has this very urban/Hip Hop/RnB music set up and it’s very realistically coloured, even if it’s severely underscale. The pink guitar is hollow and flimsy and completely clashes with the rest of the set so I didn’t even bother with it.
As for the doll head itself? It’s absolute garbage. The eye print is wonky AND chipping, half of the hair is a LOT shorter than the other and the hair isn’t curly but rather flat and matted. I tried brushing it but there’s knots and tangles which would require a lot of work.
But yeah, while I like a lot of things about it, I’m kind of tired about Mattel’s shitty distribution and how many design flaws there is with the hips, the doll’s head, and the fact that quality control can be hit or miss….

There was an outdoor portrait activity , we invited the lovely girl Joy Yang to go to NTU campus to take picture , Joy Yang got pretty face , eyes , natural quality, nice figure with great breast , small waist , round hip and slim body, when she wore a fashion outfit with white boot to show her personal style of pose , she is so charming and gorgeous ,thank Joy Yang ,she did her best model job

It's looking hopeful for the Bluebirds to nest in our box this year. Last year the Chickadees claimed the box, and then the nest of babies was robbed by a raccoon. We have added a cone to the pole, hoping the nest will be safe this year.
