The Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Head of UNMISS has urged parties to the peace deal to accelerate their efforts to fully implement the agreement so that a transitional government can be formed.
At a press conference in Juba on November 20, 2019, David Shearer said the key ingredient needed to progress peace in South Sudan is political will.
“If parties want to fully implement the agreement and form a transitional government, they can, if that will exists,” he said.
Progress is also needed to reunify forces so that parties have the trust and confidence needed to join a transitional government, negotiation and political settlement of the states and boundaries issue is required and steps must be taken to resolve the status of Opposition Leader, Dr. Riek Machar, so that he can travel freely to Juba for peace talks.
The SRSG also recommended that a trust fund or similar mechanism with independent oversight be set up to monitor the use of resources being used to implement the agreement.

Exhibition: Accelerating Sustainable Development through Disaster Risk Reduction
The newly formed Group of Friends for Disaster Risk Reduction this week launched a powerful photo exhibition at the UN in New York to coincide with the opening of the so-called "informal-informal" negotiations leading up to the 2012 UN Conference on Sustainable Development or Rio+20.
The Group of Friends is co-chaired by Australia, Indonesia, Norway and Peru and was formed last month to provide governments with a forum to discuss elements of disaster risk reduction that can be reflected in the outcome document of Rio+20.

NLP Accelerated learning is about having the right motivation, the right state and beliefs and the correct tools to learn things really quickly and easily.
When you add your own personal learning style and a few NLP techniques then learning stuff really does get easy. It really is all about learning excellence.
Here’s why I believe that learning how to learn is even more important now than ever.
There is no such thing as a job for life anymore. It is thought that the average school leaver will have between 3 and 5 careers over the course of their working life. It makes sense to be able to retrain as quickly and as easily as possible.
There will be jobs & businesses in the future, that do not currently exist. Those who adapt quickest will be the winners.
If we are now in the Information age that suggests having a lot of new data to keep up with. The ‘innovation curve is about to go vertical.
If you were to create a graph of all the information that has ever existed and started the graph at the year
1 AD it would take until 1500 for the amount of knowledge available to double. It doubled again by 1750 and then 1900. The next doubling of knowledge took a mere 50 years then 10 years and 7 years and finally six years.
This was up until 1973 when there was 128 times more knowledge than in 1 AD according to George Anderia who measured this growth.

On 12 May 2023, Ambassador Lindsay Skoll met UNIDO Director General Gerd Müller. The UK will provide £65.5m in funding for UNIDO's Accelerate to Demonstrate facility – part of the UK’s £1b Ayrton Fund commitment to accelerate the clean energy transition in developing countries.
The A2D Facility will provide grant finding to small and medium sized enterprises, research institutions and other business organisations.

Addressing malnutrition can result in substantial economic gains, yet current funding levels are insufficient to eliminate hunger by 2030 and spending on overnutrition is low and not well documented. In this session, international experts on economics and nutrition will discuss the economic rationale for ending hunger and malnutrition, and will explore innovative financing mechanisms that donors, the private sector, governments, and civil society can use to accelerate progress in the field.
