Taken during the assignment minimalism / no rule of thirds. Cropped / straightened slightly to remove unwanted mortar line at top and bottom.
During the current warm spell, the ferns come alive with bright sunlight penetrating the variously angled bracts, creating lovely patterns of light and shade.
The lock is used by the laundry next to the wall, to lock their door. My host in Istanbul brings her clothes here, and as I was waiting outside I noticed the abstract looking wall and lock.

It's freezing here in central Texas! We've had wave after wave of freezing rain, and even a little icing. More is on the way, and there is no end in sight (the weatherman says "maybe Thursday"). With a good portion of the country being affected by this strange and severe weather, I thought I'd post something warm. Hope it helps melt the ice in your parts.
Photo of butterfly koi from my pond in abstract. Love taking photos of my koi but it's difficult to get the photos perfect (water reflections, koi constantly moving, etc.). Going abstract helps in showing off how beautiful these fishes are.
