Water Lily Abstract

The original for this shot was a photo of a water lily taken at Longwood Gardens near Philadelphia. I then made a reflection of the lily using the Flood filter in Photoshop. I then used the Liquid filter (fun, but is slow without a lot of RAM) to decontruct the reflection a bit. Some areas became transparent during the process (you could see the background grid), so I selected those areas and then used the Clone tool to fill them in. I then used the blur tool a bit to soften some edges in the reflection. It sounds more complicated than it is. Copyright 2007 www.jeffwignall.com. There are some free Photoshop tutorials on my site. And there is an article on the Flood filter on my blog: www.jeffwignall.blogs.com.
