Abstracted closeup of the heart of a bromeliad leaf cluster. Ring flash used. NY Botanical Garden, Bronx, NY.

In my upper backyard I have a firepit that I love to sit around during fall crisp nights with my daughter. We have shots of Fireball and listen to our favorite band, Carbon Leaf on Spotify. Abstracted double-exposed photo (varies in focal length) of the coking plant of the Zollverein colliery in Essen, Germany.

The coking plant is reflected in a pool of water in front of it, the whole image is turned sideways and significantly overexposed in post-processing to abstract the image.

Here a less postprocessed version of the image

A reminder of the days when it was easy to go the cinema. Love the modern design of our local Odeon cinema, especially in the sunshine.

While sitting out back I love to gaze up at the sky to see the cloud formations and just let my imagination run wild. What do you see? A piece of my town..

My last image click here made me think of Dorothy Parker - American literary wit of short story and poetry, so I found a quote by her “Look at him, a rhinestone in the rough.”

Abstracted Digital Painting created in Adobe Photoshop

This is another one from the spring 2013 archives; Beefy and I were walking along the beautiful Bow River during an intense, fiery sunset, and, after snapping a bunch of shots of the sunset and the river, I decided to zoom right in as far as I could go on the amazing patterns created by the light on the gently rippling water along the shore.

It had a decidedly abstract feel and some very wild colours and patterns going on!

I hope you all like it!

Oh, and also, I know today is Black Sunday, but, to be honest, I have way too many nice photos I want to upload to use my one daily upload to join the protest. I have already signed and voted for various support threads against flickr forcing this new change upon us so hopefully that will be enough!

I truly do hope that flickr can use some common sense and not alienate and anger so many loyal, long-term, PAYING customers by forcing the ridiculous new layout down our throats!

Flickr does NOT need to look like Instagram / Tumblr / Pinterest, etc!

I hope you have all had an excellent weekend so far, my friends!
