I zoomed in close with my 70-300mm for this abstract shot of a wave crashing. The sunrise worked out just right to give the nice yellow/green/blue gradient across the wave!

You know you've been a townie for a long time when… you realize the "new" addition to the public library is 25 years old.

The proposal to replace the downtown library that voters turned down in 2012 might have been over-ambitious. But I've always been slightly bothered by the way the square bricks look on the top floors added in 1991. Visually they just seem "heavier" than the normal-sized brick of the 1974 east wing underneath. It's also a little weird that they protrude about 1/4" further out.

i'm on a quest to get an amelia earhart badge. which means i have to document on ravelry 40,075 (36,645m) yards of yarn knit or crocheted into projects! this is giving me incentive to actually take pictures of old fo's and weigh/calculate yardage. as well as finish up as many ufo's as possible this year to meet my goal before december. meg is acting as my blanket model today. something she is happy to do since it is snowing again so snuggling in a warm blankey is a pleasant occupation :o)
