Taken with a Sigma 105mm macro lens, I focused on a small section of flower with a large aperture for a shallow depth of field. Exposure adjusted and clarity reduced in Ligthroom.

Pond life

 

Not an insult… but a description.

 

I like the way that the pond weed creates a landing pad for the falling leaves. It also helps reveal the inky blackness of the water.

 

It’s not an obvious subject for a photo. But, when you look closely, slowly…

These colours have a happy feel to them for me. They remind me of holidays by the seaside and the wind blowing our kites and the thin material getting puckered by the somersaults high in the air. I can see the blue summer sky, feel the sunshine and I hear the shouts and laughter of excited and carefree children. I can feel freedom. I can feel me.
