Just a little experiment.

I learned this technique in an online photography class. Start with a shot of smoke rising from an incense stick, then flip/rotate multiple time in Photoshop. Add a color gradient. Some very cool images result. And no two are the same!

The weekly theme in the 52-week project is "abstract."

edited to increase contrast and get rid of tan colours. i just really like the look of the pattern here. it was waves in shallow water on a sunny day.

Abstract obtained by macro shot of color Papers.

To avoid confusion with some group invitations, all of my images are created from blank. Any image from a photo is clearly marked as such.

This abstract is meant to represent duality, the contrast between the light and dark in all of us. Like the Roman god Gemini, there is two sides to everything.

- on working motherhood

copyright freef0cus Jan 2012

there's never any time when you are ever left alone

your responsibilities multiply and you are left to atone

the guilt always grips you as you never have the time

(and energy is unavailable even when you do)

to appreciate the present, find fulfillment, so you 'family mime'

others seem enlightened and somewhat energised

but you cannot find your feet and only supervise

obstacles make you weary,

you cannot find a pace

and everything comes out of the woodwork

when you are already in a race

time is always on top of you

no matter what you do

and your superiors are always on at you

without regard for what you do or have been through

life slips through your fingers

and you often shed a tear

as you cannot get any traction,

Or happiness to reappear

You wonder at your journey

you cannot see it clearly

what are you really getting out of life events?

Things are looking very jaded

and good things are already faded

You wish for passion and for pleasure

and perseverance for divine assistance

to give you some persistence and help you find your way

This has been post processed (as if you can't guess) and I think a little guessing game would be fun BUT I know for a fact that there is no way you will guess correctly.

A couple of clues would be in order just so it isn't too hard.

It is a common product

It was shot at an angle

Used around the home although perhaps Australian homes more so

Background colour is changed but focus point isn't

It's a glass louvre window on our house, taken at the usual "jaunty" angle. The line is the overlap of 2 pieces.

Challenge #41: Shape and color

I'm still playing with abstracts. I've been scoping out things at home, playing with light to get interesting shapes to appear.

After friendly feedback from the great guys and gals in #TwPhCh I've uploaded this alternative crop, which I think works much better at emphasizing the shapes.

Check out the smaller shapes - I'm sure I saw a Polar Bear!
