Photographed image of a film that developed on the water's surface when I rinsed out my cooler at lakeside. I don't know what caused the film.

This came out of a workshop "Playing with Light".
A macro picture of an old plastic bottle, filled with water, illuminated by a very colorful picture on a laptop.
I don't do abstracts very often, but this is great.

I'm back doing "Forest Abstracts" ... this is number 10 in the series (I made a set if you care to see the others). I highly recommend the exercise of abstracting the forest, try it ... it's addictive! This is not heavily processed even though it appears to be ... strong contrast adjustment, colour balance warmed up a wee bit and then the image was sharpened. The effect is an artifact of using a very long lens and relatively wide aperture for a narrow depth of field - only one of the trees is in focus as you can see. The trees were snow free due to a short bout of warmer weather but it is snowing once again as I type this note.
I had a feeling during the hike that I was going to see Frodo and Sam at any moment :)

仕事でぱっとデザインできるようにちょっと習作。背景素材。田舎の茶色いトタン屋根の写真をトリミングしたものを出発点に画像加工した。仕上げにスクラッチを入れるとCGっぽさが弱まり、リアリティーが増す。自分が何屋なのか完全に見失っている。
現代美術館に展示されているアブストラクトが魅力的なのは、現実の模倣ではなくて絵画（あるいは彫刻など）としての純粋性、独立性を持っているからって話がある。
有閑な人たちの間の言葉遊びという側面はさておき、アブストラクトには、不思議だったり複雑だったり（たまに）きれいだったりする模様を大画面で見る楽しさがあるし、何も具象していないという点において無意味な絵が、立派な美術館にうやうやしく展覧されている皮肉さも面白い。
ありとあらゆるメッセージが、街で、テレビで、ウェブであふれている現代において、私たちは財布を持った数字でしかない。憩いの場であるはずの都市公園や自然公園においてさえ、景観を台無しにする禁止事項や説明書きの看板から逃れることはできないし、「人間的交友」ですら、実際には自分と他人をコンテンツに置き換えて取引し、消費する市場と化している。
きっと、アブストラクトに対峙するということは、私たちを支配しているそんな現実空間から脱出するということで、大なり小なりサイケデリックなものなのだろう。
にもかかわらず、ぼくはそれを仕事（現実）で利用しているという論理的な歪み。偶然だけど、この習作も歪みが入っている。 自分が何屋なのか完全に見失っている。
Apparently, this time of year, I'm drawn to adstracts in nature. Maybe it's because my bugs aren't around. ;-)
