Abstract on a textured pattern.

No story here. I went to the get my eyeglasses fixed before my impending trip and poked around a recently completed complex of sports fields to which I had previously never visited.

simplicity is a most complex form ~ duke ellington

I visited a preview showing at the newly expanded San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SF MOMA) last week and was particularly drawn to the giant abstract paintings of Gerhard Richter, a German painter born in 1932.

I didn't even manage to see a fraction of the art on display in the museum; at 110,000 sq. ft. it is now the largest contemporary art museum in the country and the largest of any museum in northern California. I think my annual member's pass has been a good investment as I will need to go back many times to see it all.

Best of all, photography is permitted! I only brought my crop sensor with macro lens because I didn't want to carry much weight, so these are only small sections of the large paintings.

Catching up on last week's postings because of an absence.

This image really captured my attention as I was working at my sink. The sweeping curves, the shadow, the popping bubbles made me reach for my camera. Somehow the black and white just fit the simplicity of this image.

There is peacefulness in everyday tasks, I can feel it here.
