Drawings based on the Golden Ratio and aperiodic patterns of the quasicrystal structures.

More architectural abstracts from a recent vacation to New Mexico. This is an office complex in Albuquerque. The sky is SO clear and blue out there, it makes these kinds of images exciting to take. And it is, in my opinion, just about the ONLY kind of image that looks best in the harsh midday sun with no clouds in the sky. I was like a kid in a candy store when we had such clear weather the day after we got there.

Abstract of a decorative glass resembling an orange arch

A geologist’s other-worldly paradise, the colorful hills, flat-topped mesas and sculptured buttes of these painted hills in Utah are primarily made up of river-related deposits dating back some 200 million years. Inhabited by indigenous people for thousands of years, the multi-hued sweep of pigmented rock in the arid high desert seems endless in these vast and striated badlands.

Looking the opposite way from the previous shot, at the 'lit string' archway. This view made the red tones a lot more prominent.
