I love this capture of Snugs. She was so focused on a bird in flight - it was the parent House Martins who were constantly swooping in and out of the nest up at the eaves of the house, feeding their chicks. This provided a lot of focus and fascination for my darling girl.

The famous Cornelian Bay Boat Sheds in Hobart, Tasmania. We know someone who's renovating one for a city getaway - such a great place!
In the infamous Pusher Street in Christiania, dealers are openly selling all kinds of drugs while I was commanded to put away my camera a few seconds after taking this image.
In the last three years, four people were killed in this small street and the houses next to it in a battle for control of the drug market which has been overtaken by organized crime. About two weeks ago, the "normal" people of Christiania finally destroyed the pavement in an effort to close down this street as even the anarchists couldn't bear the results of absolute freedom anymore.
So much for the dream of an anarchist free society. Proof that you cannot let mankind have unrestricted freedom. The human character just is too egoistic and focused on its own benefit when left loose. The strong will eat the weak.
Okay, where to start with this? Alexa and I hopped over to the latest round of Fameshed last week, and somehow through numerous tangents, that spiraled into a quest to find these lacy half pant thingies. We had to have them after seeing them randomly on a Flickr page and when we finally tracked them down, they were not quite what we expected. There was a reason the girl in our Flickr sighting was wearing them with a long sweater and giant handbag! The waistline of these was odd. Hideous, even. I can say that because I don’t blog, and yes, after that declaration, I don’t think anyone is gonna be knocking on my pixel door asking me to!
But, the pants. By now, we were a couple of hours into shopping, so we were invested! We were determined to style them, and there you have it, our obsession with the style challenge was hatched. We had ridiculous amounts of fun building a look and photo shoot around a single piece of clothing. And at one point I told Alexa that the only way these things were gonna work was with a skirt over them, and she said, “No!” Yep … and look how flipping KooL she looks with that edgy pencil skirt in the mix!
If this isn’t what SL is all about, then I don’t know what is. Amazing times spent with cherished friends and inspiration to fuel our creativity around every corner. Alexa, I think we’re both already looking forward to episode two! Love you!

Valle Crucis Abbey Ruins
Cistercian monks loved all things austere. Solitude ruled absolute. Finding this remote yet magical location must have at least raised a smile or two amongst the serious-minded bretheren.
Building work got underway in 1201. Eight centuries later and the abbey is one of the best preserved in Wales. Even the monks’ fishpond is still full of water!
From its cloister to chapter house, with striking rib-vaulted roof, this abbey was shaped by the devout nature of its inhabitants. The abbey was also remarkably self-sufficient thanks to the lay brethren. They were happy to leave the choir monks to their prayers while they got on with the job of tending the land. All friends together? Not quite. The monks observed their daily offices in the choir, separated by a screen from the lay brethren who worshipped in the nave of the abbey church.
Far from an easy life, Valle Crucis Abbey suffered a serious fire and numerous attacks but went on to earn a reputation for its appreciation of the literary arts. In 1535 it was ranked the second richest Cistercian monastery after Tintern. By this time, the Cistercians had relaxed their orthodox austerity. A comfortable heated suite was created for the abbot. This new found wealth and hospitality didn’t last long. Valle Crucis was duly dissolved by royal decree in 1537.
