This is the mountain I attempted to climb yesterday, I've climbed it many times but after less than an hour into the trek I had to return thoroughly exhausted. Very disappointed that Covid is still hampering my efforts.
Fledgeling Great Spotted Woodpecker [Dendrocopos major]
This little beauty is about 23/24 days old. He (?) fledged yesterday so his parents will be feeding him for the next ten days, then he’s on his own.
Here, he was squawking to be fed, as his father came and went with tasty morsels for him.
I think there are two nests near The Pixies, (where I feed the birds: a mile down the hill from my house, in the woods, next to the stream), as I’ve seen two different females. So far, I’ve seen three fledgelings, only one of which has been feeding himself, intermittently, while the parents take turns at feeding all of them, whilst still tending the others in their nests.
A great joy to watch these beautiful young birds.

you might call The Celsus Library from 2nd century AD, Efesus. Here knowledge of the known world clad in marble greek architecture represents all that we mean by Hellenism, culture and knowledge from all over the Mediterranean presented by greek catalyst .

Nimbus Cloud resembles a rain cloud and is a reflection on the vitality of Waller Creek and the nature that surrounds it.
The green ghost you see was someone walking through the frame..;) I tried to get one without people walking into and out of the frame but I got tired of standing there with my finger on the button..;)
Once buried in an urn there is nothing more left of life, but obviously posterity is a different matter.
A shrine even to Romanticists Roslin Chapel achieved world renown by the Da Vinci Code which claimed it to hold the Holy Grail and thus making a once private medieval chapel the centre of absolute legend.

Or were it quite trivial things? We will never know what this woman thought when she ran into my photo scene. Madeira, Portugal.

I know you
Who are you now
Look into my eyes
If you can't remember
Do you remember
I can see, I can still find
You're the only voice my heart can recognize
But I can't hear you now, yeah
I'll never be the same
I'm caught inside the memories
The promises
Our yesterdays
When I belonged to you
I just can't walk away
'Cause after loving you
I can never be the same
And how can I pretend I never knew you
Like it was all a dream, no
I know I'll never forget
The way I always felt with you beside me
And how you loved me then, yeah
I'll never be the same
I'm caught inside the memories
The promises
Our yesterdays
When I belonged to you
I just can't walk away
'Cause after loving you
I can never be the same
You led me here
But then I watched you disappear
You left this emptiness inside
And I can't turn back time
Nothing compares to you
Nothing compares to you

Lake Ontario.
Last June we ventured out hoping for waves and long exposure shots of the lake.. the days forest called for heavy winds gusting to 50 kph. I grabbed the tripod, the ND filter and a few other items you would want for smoothing out wave action.
We arrived to find absolute calm and no need for tripods or ND filters... Lake Ontario was flat and calm.
Always being one to make the best of any situation, we wandered down the beach and through the Rattray Marsh to the area we like to call "pebble beach." this area is largely covered in flat smooth stones and is strewn with washed up driftwood and tree stumps; bleached white from the sun.
this is a panorama of three shots manually hand stitched together.

The bloody red colour beauty caught my eye while I was waiting for birds. The male Scarlet skimmer was taken at Yilan County, Taiwan
If that's how you feel these days, I don't blame you. It is like
if a great madness cloud was preventing common sense from reaching human minds. In this terrible age where the path of evolution is blocked by ignorance and political polarization, I will continue to get drunk on the idea of a better world.
Been sttuborn is the way. Get drunk too. Cheers !

Legend has it that the godess Athena threw her spear into the ground of Akropolis and out sprang the first olive tree or even the tree of life in Greek mythos. Todays tree is a later reminder and behind it the Erechteion/Erechtheum built 421 - 401 BC once containing several shrines, and later to become a Christian church. Is it possible anywhere to come closer to absolute mythos than here?
