Some woman jumped in front of my train the other day, just before I was due to go on holiday. It has made my whole holiday feel like a weird, post-traumatic dream.

The wee rickety pier at the village of St. Fillans, Perthshire, Scotland. I travelled to this spot to photograph the 'Mirror Man' sculpture which stands just out of shot to the right of the photo. It was one of those dull overcast evenings and I was not hopeful of a good photo, then the sky went this colour. It only lasted about 10 minutes. Well worth the hours drive for this scene alone.
Apart from the fronts of the houses, not a lot of colour in the 'Dee this morning. My first visit since the middle of December and all I could think was "Should've came down yesterday morning" The sky was much nicer. Oh Well..... :)

taking a self portrait with at f/1.4 is not that easy. getting the focus to be sharp on the eyes is even harder, one slight movement and it's a bit blurry, but im still in love with my lens.
this week has been busy, i've been getting ready for my trip. i don't know how often i'll be able to upload when i'm away. it all depends on how much time i'll have to edit. hopefully i'll be able to pull one more picture off before i leave.
recently, i dropped my old iPhone inside my house and the glass was just all cracked! how disappointed i was. i take care of everything i own so much and it all comes down to a second when all the caring goes to waste. but recently, i bought the new iPhone 3Gs, and wow it's fast, like really really fast. and plus the video/camera is awesome on it (at least for me it is).
like i said, hopefully this won't be my last upload for a long time :)

( English follow) Quoique relativement commune au centre et à l’ouest du Canada, la nidification du Grèbe Jougris a été observé au Québec uniquement dans les limites de la ville de Rouyn-Noranda. Cet oiseau préfèrerait les étendues d’eau peu profonde souvent eutrophes pour se reproduire et y construire son nid qui, est une masse flottante formé de matériel végétal ancré à la végétation émergente. Sur cette image on peut apercevoir beaucoup de matériel végétal excédentaire sur le dessus du nid, celui-ci est utilisé par le couple pour cacher les œufs lors de leurs absence ou lors de de l’approche d’une menace imminente. Ce comportement n’est toutefois pas pratiqué par tous les couples. / Although relatively common in central and western Canada nesting of Red-necked Grebe in Quebec has only been observed within the city limits of Rouyn-Noranda. This bird prefer shallow often eutrophic water bodies to breed and build its nest which is a floating mass of plant material anchored to emergent vegetation. In this image we can see a lot of extra plant material on the top of the nest which is used by the couple to hide the eggs during their absence or for an approaching imminent threat. However, this behavior is not practiced by all couples.
